ECOBOOST TV commercial
Ford has been running a TV commercial "THE ECOBOOST CHALLANGE" it show cases the F-150 and Focus. During the intro for the spot it shows a race track with a few Ford's driving around, I did notice a GTHIG 2013 Mustang in the group. The Stahg is in the backgroud in a few of the shots of the other cars, could it be a ECOBOOST mustang? or just a 5.0 at the same event?

I tell you what... if Ford would take a page from the Cadillac handbook and put that 5.0 and rear wheel drive into a new Fusion... I'd be all over that. That new Fusion looks good inside and out, and if it had the power to back it up, it would be one sick ride.

I think they're blowing it on the engines. They sould provide
3.7 N/A at 305hp
3.7 ecoboost at 350hp
5.0 N/A at 420hp
5.0 ecoboost at 650hp
There is no plane of existence where a 4-cyl Mustang is desirable in the US. In the lighter 2015 chassis, all engines would get better mileage.

The ECO 4cyl is going to be for the European market on a niche car basis with limited production but they are still toying with the US market getting it as well. Last I read on Motortrend anyway.

For those in doubt about the possible EchoBoost engine being put in a Mustang. This is the 365hp, twin turbo, AWD, Taurus vs a 5.0 Mustang...

If the owner of the Mustang is on the forum, perhaps they could chime in.

My reason for posting wasn't to dump on the Mustang, but to show the EchoBoost is not a dog, and really should be given a chance, if Ford decides to go that route. I was impressed a 4400lb+ AWD Taurus could muster that power. Imagine if the engine was in the new Mustang, which is supposed to lighter then the current model.
