Has anyone actually had the recall, to install the fuel tank shroud, and various pieces of insulation, completed? My parts were ordered on Jul 6th and still nothing from Ford.

2015 ecoboost recall

I just had the recall work done on my 2015 ecoboost by my local Ford dealer.
The recall involved potential underbody overheating.

Everything went o.k. except the dealer had my car almost three days. This dealer keeps very busy and may have been backed up with other service work. The tech said the recall required dropping the gas tank to change the heat shields and the job was more complicated than expected perhaps because mine was one of the first recalls of this type the dealer had performed.

The dealer charged me extra to remove and replace my one piece aftermarket CAT back exhaust system necessary to drop the gas tank. It was well worth it as my car sounds much better with the new exhaust system that did away with the resonator and changed both mufflers.

3 days for a 3 hour job = pretty sad. I hope you had a free loaner. Which brand exhaust did you go with?

I had a local muffler shop install a Magnaflow street series CAT back system PERFORMANCE EXHAUST. It is all welded one piece design. It is legal in all states according to Magnaflow.
It has a mellow low sound which only can be heard when you "put your foot in it."
Otherwise, it cannot be heard. The exhaust does not change the sound of the engine, but it does change the sound of the exhaust. Magnaflow does provide a good warranty. You may wish to hear it first online or in person before deciding on purchase. Good Luck

Had it done a week ago. Everything went great and the dealer only had it overnight. Matthews-Currie Ford in Nokomis, Fl. Their service department is great. Wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

That exhaust comes in 5 pieces. Unless the exhaust shop welded it all together, it should not have presented any more of a challenge to the dealer then the stock exhaust. I think they took you for a ride.

Well, I finally got her in for the recall and a oil change. I was there at 8 am, they gave me a loaner to drive so I could run some errands. Had breakfast at Perkins and then headed back to the dealer. Turned in the Loaner, got coffee and read my book. four and half hours total to finish it up. Her One Year birthday is next week. Still happy with her. Got her full synthetic for a B-day present.

I am fortunate that I have three dealers I trust. This is my first car from this dealer, about 30 miles from home, White's Canyon Ford, Spearfish, SD. They have been stellar.

Took about a month for them to get the parts in, but the Fiancee' had it done last Friday. Dropped the Eco around 8 am, grabbed a 2013 Fusion as a loaner, and we got a call around 4pm that she was done.

ecoboost recall

I recently had the subject recall done on my 2015 ecoboost Mustang. I recall it took two or three weeks for my local Ford dealer to get all the required parts.
The actual work took two days to complete.

My dealer charged me $100 extra to do the recall because he needed to remove and replace my one piece aftermarket CAT back exhaust system. The gas tank must be removed to do the recall. I suggest you wait until the recall work is done before considering changing to an aftermarket CAT back exhaust. I believe doing the recall with an aftermarket axle back exhaust system will not incur any extra charges.
