ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL MICROPHONES DISCONNECT. TWO (OR 3) ON EACH CAR
After hours of searching useless websites only to find BAD information, I have found that in my 2017 Mustang EcoBoost Convertible uses TWO microphones, and the Coupe uses THREE to broadcast the engine noise thru the radio speakers.
Both models in 2017 use the trunks' left rear area see all the attachments from the Chilton manual that found,
I will post pictures of the locations when the garage warms up.
the top center console Microphone, to unplug the wire connection from the Mic. you will have to take the Mic. assy out of its holder and disassemble it to unplug the wire connection.

Is that just the Ecoboost models that have the fake exhaust sound? I hope the GT models are exempt. Man, I thought BMW was the only manufacturer creating fake exhaust notes. I guess I am 'out of it'. All I know is I would really dislike that.
I do not know what car has what. Pictures of Microphone top center console mic. location wires unplugged Left side plastic cover center top is the microphone Mic. cover off, then take off electrical panel, it just slips out. disconnect wire plug from Mic. then reassemble mic. with electric plug disconnected. put the microphone back on the holder and secure the wire plug.

The noise it makes is very annoying to me, but I am 77 years old, and don't want FAKE engine noise.
The Primitive Version was the Sound Tube from the Intake to the Floorboard in 2010! Back in the Day it Was Flipping the Air Cleaner Lid on the Family Sedan! BA WAAAAAA!
