2015 Mustang EcoBoost MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back Install Video
MagnaFlow 19097 Mustang Cat-Back Exhaust 2-1/2" EcoBoost 2015
Today we are showing you how to install MagnaFlow's stainless steel 2-1/2" Street Series cat-back exhaust kit on our 2015 Mustang EcoBoost project car. There has been a lot of debate on the internet about the sound of the new Ecoboost, and a lot of enthusiasts are coming to terms that it is never going to sound like the GT, but that doesn't mean it can't sound a whole lot better than the factory. MagnaFlow has been known for giving Mustangs a nice deep tone, and that is exactly what they did for the EcoBoost.
This system provides everything needed for installation and can be installed in less than an hour. The MagnaFlow kit will mount in all of the factory exhaust mounting locations, it requires no cutting or no welding, though we do recommend getting some help removing the factory system.
The 4-1/2" polished stainless steel tips fill up the exhaust cutouts much better than the small stock muffler tips giving your EcoBoost a great look to match the great sound. The Street Series Mufflers included with this kit provide a louder than stock sound without turning heads everywhere you drive like the Competition Series may.
Once installed, the MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back provides the deepest tone we have heard on the EcoBoost yet. It gives you a nice low rumble without the raspy sound a lot of other systems have.

Wow that sounds really good ... nice job on the high quality video to Steve & the rest of the CJP crew !!
I had a Magnaflow 15717 cat-back on my 2004 V6 3.9L Mustang and I really liked the quality, fit, and sound of that kit and it was still in good shape when I sold the car 6 years / 125k miles later. However, that system was less than HALF the cost back in 2004 ($420 then / now $643 which is still 71% less) ... it consisted of 304 SS Tails and mufflers, the rest was 409 SS like the O.E. Ford system.
As the new EB kit is $456 more than the 15717 kit today is this partially due to it being all 304 SS instead of a mix of 304 & 409 like that kit ??
Mufflers used on the EB kit are definitely larger and the tips are fancier which will ADD cost, but there really is not any more piping involved ... kits consist of the same number of pieces.
Kits that were all 304 SS back in the day (like Borla) were always quite a bit more $$ than those that used 409, and the cheap kits that use all aluminized steel were substantially cheaper yet.
I'm sure part of the price difference is due to being a NEW car model and NEW aftermarket parts ... prices will likely come down as competition heats up and these cars and parts become more common a few years from now.
Just curious !!

As much as I love the Ecoboost Mustangs, It just seems wrong to hear one without a V8 sound. That said, I have to agree with yugoboss. I prefer the stock sound.
Not trying to diss CJ Pony Parts. Their videos are great!

I am sorry to say this, but that car sounds like a Volkswagen Beetle. It's not the exhaust's fault though. It's Ford's for using the same Pinto firing order.
Behold the mighty Honda VFR with Delkevic exhaust (as well as stock sounds, but forget that... Delkevic.. )
That is because the firing order and timing is the key. If Ford could fix the firing order or timing (dunno if the order would matter, but the timing definitely would,) then that Ecoboost would sound like it ought, especially with this exhaust, and everyone would want it for the sound. At least, I would think maybe... It's possible the turbo screws everything up, and so all this is a moot thing... except y'all heard that fantastic VFR sound, so there's that, right?
I want me A VFR, and yes, that exhaust on it. Just because it sounds like Win. And to hear the tales, it's actually a nice motorcycle too!
