So I'm curious..what is the MPG that 2.3 Mustang owners are getting with their cars? Please tell us your city/highway mpg and weather or not you have the PP package.

I'm in Willow Spring NC just south of Raleigh. My very first 87 octane tank (the dealer filled it) was around 24 mpg. Put 93 in it second time to see a power boost and I'm averaging a little under 24 but not a quarter of the way down yet. On my 05 GT I can get 23 on the hwy and 21 around town. So I expect when my EB starts breaking in I should get around 25-26 on my commute.

I am in Western South Dakota. Most of my driving is Interstate. The dealer filled her with Premium and that is all i use. Average mpg is 25 (rounded off). My highway mpg is between 28 and 31 depending on temperature. Less mpg when below freezing We just came back from lunch, with a 90 mile round trip. Averaged 28.9 mpg at 75 on the highway, however, the temperature was 25 degrees with a cross wind and ice fog.

I can fluctuate because I don't drive it often, but I usually get ~22MPG in all city driving. Could be a little higher or lower depending on length of trip and how "spirited" I am in driving.

If I do get on the highway I am ~28mpg in the highways/toll roads in DFW.

I'm getting average 27 to 28 between city and freeway driving. The other day went driving around and was getting 30 on long drive.

I'm typically seeing the computer calculation is 1/2 MPG higher than hand calculation. Not bad and close enough for me

Calculated for the "majority" city. Computer only for highway. But, as mentioned, mine has been pretty close calculated vs. computer.

I also find it is fairly close within 2 or so, but only after sustained driving in those conditions i.e. city traffic, or open freeway. Otherwise it's not dependable for quoting true stats.

My experience mostly as well. I'm just not on the highway enough to do anything other than let the computer tell me!

Time for a "Road Trip!" with that EB. lol

V8 w/3.73's, 4000' level 2 lane highway, 2+ hours, 70 sustained with downshift/blips up to 90 passing semi's, 2 mile 55-45 slowdown into town to stop and take pic (was at 27.2). Hand calc confirms:

I work from home, so my car is out mostly on weekends in stop and go city traffic and the occasional multi-lane highway. I've never be going 70 or above for any significant time. As I said, not enough to really measure. In other words, my highway driving here is probably 15-20 minutes tops in Dallas traffic. And a sustained 70 would be a miracle. However, as I've said before I didn't buy it for MPGs anyway!

Others are getting (don't know calc or otherwise) well into the 30s on road trips with the EB. When I finally drive any significant distance at speed I'll update

As a note: My '09 GT was usually a 25-26 MPH road-warrior on the highway (calc), and ~16-17 city. It did several long trips: Nashville to Dallas, Nashville to all parts of the SE, and Nashville to Shreveport.

I would think so.
But then again the F150 guys aren't getting outstanding highway mileage in their EBV6's compared to the 5.0.
Don't you have that 85mph interstate in TX?

Yes, but not 85, and not in Dallas (we top out at 70 in the DFW area on the toll roads) but once you get out of the metro area it goes up to either 75 or 80 in areas. There aren't many stretches of 80, yet.

I'm sure I'll be taking a trip in the EB when it's just my wife and I, but if we have the kids, then it's the Explorer. They're too old to sit in the back for very long!

my F150 FX2 with the 3.5L TT got horrible gas mileage once you got over 65 MPH. it got great mileage in the city....around 22 consistantly. About 19 on highway at 75 MPH

I am curious, what was your mileage when towing?

I have the EB Premium 200A Automatic with PP. Running Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 snow tires. I live at 8500' elevation and commute to 5500' elevation, 64 mile round trip, 95% of the commute is highway driving. I run 65-70 for half the commute and 75-80 for the other half. Every so often, I hit 6-8 miles of stop & go highway congestion.

I'm getting 29 - 31.5 mpg, typically higher mpg in warmer temps & running the entire trip with cruise control. Down to 29 when I romp on it a bit more.
