V6 Oil Change

Just wanted to know how many miles before you did your first oil change on the V6. I can't find anything in my owners manual for some reason on the recommended mileage, maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

I did mine at 1500 miles (6 months worth of driving), which was also right before the winter. I do not drive her during the winter, so I thought it would be wise to do so. I spoke with several people and this seemed better than leaving that old oil in their for 4-5 months. This year I will put more than 1500 miles during the driving season. I was told from salesman that I bought from (he has 2 Mustangs) to do the oil change every 4-5k miles. If I drive less miles than that, do it before I put her away for the winter. I hope this helps!

Here you go, page 417: (Edited - So, read the chart which is also in there) Hope this helps.
There is no requirement to change the oil from the factory. They DO NOT use break in oil and have not for many years. You have Motorcraft Synthetic Blend in the engine. With that said, I do change the initial fill at 3000 miles and replace with full synthetic. Check your IOLM and see what percent you have left. Mine is indicating 83% oil life. This is the same type system they use in aircraft, so it does work. After my initial change I do 6000 miles or twice a year due to the adverse weather conditions out here.

NORMAL SCHEDULED
MAINTENANCE
Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor®
Your vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent
Oil-Life Monitor that determines when you
should change the engine oil based on how
your vehicle is used. By using several
important factors in its calculations, the
monitor helps reduce the cost of owning
your vehicle and reduces environmental
waste at the same time.
This means you do not have to remember
to change the oil on a mileage-based
schedule. Your vehicle lets you know when
an oil change is due by displaying ENGINE
OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE
REQUIRED in the information display.
The following table provides examples of
vehicle use and its impact on oil change
intervals. It is a guideline only. Actual oil
change intervals depend on several factors
and generally decrease with severity of
use.
