UCA noise??

Got a UCA installed today and I am hearing a bumping/popping noise when at low speeds when I brake or accel. Anyone know why this is happening or what I can do? Thanks in advance

Sounds like it may not be tightening completely, or if you got a UCA with spherical bearings it is normal.

It was fully assembled Hotchkis UCA. Got it installed by Houston Performance. They do strictly mustangs, and also installed my LCAs, and Headers.

I did my one last week and no noise from it. I have the BMR one, they recommend changing out the STOCK UCA MOUNT. OR you will hear a clunk noise.

You should look in the the UCA MOUNT.

Nathan, before spending the money on a mount just make sure it is tightened down fully.

I have the mount and mine still clunks over certain bumps. It is coming out and being replaced with a roush Uca.

I have the same problem. J&M with the stock mount. I'm told it's because the stock bolt and the bolt holes are different sizes so that's most likely where your clunking is coming from.

This Hotchkis UCA uses a Heim Joint style bearing. So the noises you are hearing is normal. FK Bearing sells polyeurathane boots to go over the spherical bearing to help quiet it down.
