I just installed a full eibach lowerein kit. Car handels amazing, but i noticed lately while coasting down the drive way are when entering a parkinglot a pop sound coming from the rear suspension. It sound like the shocks which are eibach as well i cecked everything out all looks good and is snug. I guess my question is could it be the shocks. Please shoot me any ideas i'm on the verge of just buying new ones andchaning them out to see what happens??

 

Sounds like you have the rear sway bar pop. Did you remove the sway bar bolts at any point?

 

Yes i replaced the shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars it was part of the eibach kit i ordered. Is this Normal? will it mess anything up ? its only when coasting over small bumps..

 

The rear sway bar bolts must be tightened under load or if that can't be accomplished its a pain in the *** to get it right. When I did my suspension, I didn't have a lift so it took me hours to get the sway bar not to pop. Tightening it down, take a road test...loosening bolts...adjust sway bar...tighten bolts...road test...I think I did it over a half dozen times before I got rid of the pop.

 

I didn't have a lift eaither had it up on jack stands wheni tightened them.. So the adjustment need to be made at the wheels rite? Would jacking it up by the rear diff substitute the suspension being under a load?

 

I loosened all bolts and tightened at the wheels first and then at the body. I don't know if it will help to jack it at the diff, but you can try getting ramps, but it's probably going to be a beach to get wrenches in there laying on the ground.

Yes, lifting by rear diff will be the same as driving onto ramps

 

Would Lifting it on the diff put the suspension under load to allow for the adjustments ??

 

Yes, that's how I did it.

 

I'll give it a shot hopefully it stops the poping

 

Please don't tell me you are going to lift it by the rear differential and that's it. I'm sure you won't work under a car with only a jack under the rear diff.

Put the jack stand under the axle tubes while you are at it.


Also I'd love to hear what a poping rear end sounds like. Actually I wouldn't. I'm sure his rear end sounds the same as mine only a little older.

 

That's what I did just in case.

 

Of course I have a 4 post lift now for these types of things, but before that I picked up a set of four Race Ramp wheel cribs and they worked awesome for things like this.
