The SR springs are OK from what I've seen, but I prefer name-brand stuff.
I really like my Steeda Sport set-up, but if I was to be in the market now, I would most likely go with BMR

 

OK, I have decided I will get the control arm and sway bars.

Some have given their suggestions already, but wondering what others may prefer for control arms and sway bars.

As I don't plan on crawling under my car to tune it, adjustable would not be required. Just want to put it in and leave it.

And do I need a different Panhard bar?

 

I wouldn't bother with aftermarket swaybars, unless you plan to really track the car.
The new springs will make a big difference, and they also help minimize body roll since they're usually stiffer.
As far as an adjustable panhard bar, yes, they're usually needed to center the rear axle, an easy adjustment.

 

Are you planning on just control arms and sways, or in addition to springs? Control arms and sways will cost more than the springs and will not impact handling as much.

That's a big no no. Sways with stock springs would make no sense. Other way around would be better. Besides, most sways already account for lowered cars anyway in terms of roll stiffness, (since you need less roll stiffness with stiffer springs).

Honestly, if you're dead set on leaving ride heights stock just replace your Koni Orange with Koni Yellow. This way you can dial in the dampers to roll slower, and therefore stiffen the car without doing springs or sways.

 

You'll have to forgive my ignorance when it comes to performance. All my modding knowledge is limited to the interior and electronics.

You can run different shocks/struts and improve the ride, but usually not as much as if you upgraded the springs at the same time. Springs are not that expensive and there is no additional labor if you are already changing the shocks/struts, this is why they are often done together.

The sway bars are not dependent on the shock/struts/springs and can be upgraded at any time,but are usually done last. The stock sway bars on the mustang are actually pretty good, so I would spend my money on something that will have a bigger affect on handling first. I am only replacing mine at this point due to bad end link bushings on the rear. I am really happy with the overall handling at this point with the stock sway bars.

 

That might be the case on VW's, but as we all know, a Mustang is a completely different animal.
The shocks and springs are really lame from the factory, swapping them out for Koni Yellows or Bilsteins plus a good set of springs is all most people will ever need.
You don't start really needing swaybars until you start racing the car.

Roush. They even sell packages, but you could probably piece together a kit for a little cheaper.

There's also some Ford Racing springs that will only lower the car about 1-1.25" I believe

You could always go with GT500 springs if you want the car to be lowered less.
They're meant for a heavier car so they won't settle down as low when installed on a lighter car

 

What about the SR springs and a set of Koni srt's instead of the yellows?

 

SR springs are 1.5" drop
Koni's STR.T shocks are not adjustable, they supposedly ride like the yellows on full-soft, and they don't have a lifetime warranty like the yellows.

I would definitely switch to Koni yellows.. From my understanding there have been quality related issues with the oranges and they also don't offer full lifetime warranties where as the yellows are covered under lifetime warranty and still manufactured in Holland.. The Koni STR.T Oranges on the other hand are manufactured in Mexico..

So the latest advise that I am now favouring is trading up to the Koni Yellows from my Oranges. I already have the GT500 mounts.

 

That is a good place to start if you really are against doing different springs.

 

Again, do think the car looks good lowered, and would like to compliment the struts and shocks with appropriate springs, but as it is now, the front of my car 'just' clears curbs and the steep driveway.

 

H&R OE Sport Springs. 10mm front and rear. I had them, paired with Koni FSD's... very decent ride...
