So... Found this in my tire this morning
I had a local shop take it out. It was on the flat side/bottom of the tire, but in at an angle. The shop patched it up and it's not leaking... But still has me a little concerned. They also told me that the Pirelli P Zero's are discontinued. I've been waiting for a reason to get new wheels/tires...
I asked a buddy at work and he thinks it's some kind of roofing nail used to place scaffold frames on. But you're right man... Definitely looks like a firing pin

That is a temporary nail. Used to hold walls and other things for a short term. It goes as far as the first rib. You have the rest to get the hammer claw around it to remove easily.
Have you been driving by new construction?

Thanks Jazzman... Makes sense. I think I have a pretty good idea where it's from. There's an overpass going up on my way home from work with a wood frame around it. Part of a traffic re-routing project. Should I be concerned about this tire at higher speeds? The last time I had a puncture like this was with a different car and the tire eventually had to be replaced. I see some SVE drifts in my future. I like those wheels because you can put the stock pony center caps on them.

Used so it can be removed and both the board and nail can be used again
Concrete contractors use them a lot for forms
It's called a "duplex nail" yes it's used mostly in industrial concrete forms. Not usually re used unless your boss is a cheap sob, just makes it easier to strip form work, plus they have a higher shear strength than a usual 3 inch nail so they are good for scaffolding as well.
