Should I bother buying a Strut tower brace for my V6?
On a V6, does it really make much of a difference? I am also thinking of lowering it too. Anyone buy the brace for their V6?

Depends on what you do with the car. If you auto cross it or road race it, you get a bit more stability and stiffness in the front end. If its just a daily driver you will never see and handling difference and it will just be a pretty piece under the hood. I would never pay the near $200 price that some kinds want.

A strut tower brace is there to stiffen the strut towers and keep them from flexing inwards. That will improve cornering ability. An improvement in how the car handles is always a good idea.
And since you talk of lowering the car, and get upgraded bushings where needed, and put in better shocks? That brace might make more sense. (Don't forget caster correction, bumpsteer kit, and adjustable panhard bar if you're going 1.5 or more lower!)
But if you're not tracking it or taking corners at an intersection intentionally at 40 MPH (whistles innocently) then it's not going to make that big of a difference. It'll just look nifty in the bay.
So for the cool factor, I'm going to vote 'yes', but really, it is up to what you're doing with the car, more than anything else.

It's really a weekend car for me(Drive a company car during the week) In 9 months I've only put about 3900 miles on it. I won't feel a difference driving in the city with the strut brace?

You can get a BOSS style strut tower brace on sale for less than $100. Mine cost a little more than that but uses all 4 strut bolts on each side. I think they 'look' good also

How often do you open the hood? Do you go to shows? Do you pretty much drive like a normal person does?
If the answers are
not to often
not to often
and yes
Then I don't think you will feel the difference. Things are much stronger under there than in the old dayz so its needed even less. It will tie things together nicely.

I am currently waiting on the engine cover, because I want to do my brake caliper covers first. I have a gut on eBay for the engine cover as well: Oemselectautoparts - he has it for $135 with free shipping. I have not seen it cheaper anywhere else. Good luck with your V6! I love mine!!

Yes they are worth it. I bought this one for my 12 Pony Package car http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2014-Front-Strut-Tower-Brace-/181657099333?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AMustang&hash=item2a4b9b5c45&vxp=mtr It is made of tig welded steel with a really strong mount that uses all four strut bolts. I noticed a difference on exit ramps. S197s have a stiff chassis but the these should have been installed by Ford on every one of them.
