Possibly picked my tires

So for my rears I think i decided to go with a 305 NT555r, really with how much HP my car is putting down a drag type radial is probably the best route.

My drive to work is 6 miles all 2 lane streets that don't go over 45mph so im not to worried about rain.

Looks like with forum discount i can get the pair for 700$ shipped from AM.

I only posted this to see if anyone had any other recommendations. I know some people hate Nitto but it also seems like others use them alot.

It does get cooler here in michigan in the fall and i have winter tires on the stock rims that i will switch out in the fall most likely. Then the car is going in the garage for the winter when the snow hits.

Ha bested by american muscles website....Don't you just love when you think its in stock (AM seems to do an okay job and putting on their site whats instock and what isn't) and its actually not after you place the order. Yeah thats always fun.

Also its very inconvenient because since i used paypal, which had money in it, i have to wait for the money to clear my bank, then get refunded to paypal. So now i have to wait probably 4 days until i can purchase a different tire. awesome.

So i did some poking around and decided to go with a 315 NT05R instead since they had those instock, was able to catch the order before they canceled it. It might stick out a bit but more tire, more traction. They said yes it'll fit a 10" wide rim.

Stock 19" track-pack tires are 27" tall

I plan on 305/35/20 555R's whenever I finally get a set of 20's ...

The 05R's are definitely a step up in traction though, and the extra height will also make it easier to launch when boosted

yeah I mean its a crap shoot really i was getting confused and over whelmed with tires and which to go with, should i just do a performance summer tire? but with all the HP that the TVS is assisting in making I decided to get the NT05r a try. They'll be 10x's better then what i have on now lol.

I would've gone with a performance summer tire myself...better lateral stability, generally speaking, compared to drag radials. If 600+ horsepower super cars can use them I don't see how a Mustang couldn't.

Nitto drag radials have great sidewalls. Really stiff so cornering is great with them. They are closer to a road race tire than a DR.

I just autocrossed with my car wearing rear 305/40/18 555R's and had great traction and cornering without any tire rollover ... chalked the tread and sidewalls and the tires were even with only the chalk on the tread itself having worn off

Only downfall to them is that they wear extremely fast. I literally got 1.5 summers (8 months) out of mine. I had them on my G8 and it was only at 400whp.
My stang has 295 nitto invo's and no complaints here. I get a little spin at 40mph wot run, but I also would spin with the 555's in my G8.
