Lowering Tips and Parts

Parts
After reading thread after thread on lowering/suspension mods I’ve decided to go with Eibach Pro-Kit. So now that I know which springs I’m getting, what other parts do I need? Several threads have been mentioned that an adjustable Panhard Bar is needed to replace the stock bar. What else should I consider?

Installation Tips
Spring compressor seems to be the one of these critical tools thing that I need. But, I have some concerns. It’s obvious that the front-end springs have lots on compressed energy, so any recommendation on using the spring compressor tool?

When I got my GT I vowed that I would try as many DIY mods and this will be my first DIY mod. I’m looking forward to your comments and recommendations.

Not needed if your not using anything from the old strut. If your reusing the dust boot and/or lower spring isolator than yes since you have to desperate them. Can it be done without compressors, yes but not recommended.

Go to autizone a borrow there spring compressor just incase. You don't wanna be mid project and find out you need one! If you do have to use one, air tools will be your best friend...

So buying new bumpstops and everything was a waste. I was trying to be able to just pop the new assemblies right in. Now I have to get dust boots. My springs came with isolators on them.

How much does autozone usually charge to rent a spring compressor??

Another tip... pat in cash, it takes a long time for them to refund it to debit.

Cool. Thanks

Any ideas with the dust boots? Buy new ones?! Can't be that much, or are they not even sold alone

You can buy them separate. Not to expensive I'd imagine... probably can get them from the parts store..

Just rent a spring compressor, it's free once returned.

I'll probably do that just Incase, but I want 2 complete strut assemblies ready to just pop in.

Anyone know the ford part number for the dust boots in an 11/12?! Can't seem to find the right ones.

I hear the Brembro break Package comes with a few little extra goodies other than just the brake parts.

One of those goodies is Different Springs (131lbs Front / 167lbs Rear), and also the struts/shocks have been tuned for spring rates.

Other than "Different Springs" I have not been able to find much about them. Any one heard of this?

www.brembo50.com has a list of parts that make it different from other GT's
