Lowering a 2010 v6.. help

I will be helping a frined of mine lower his 2010 v6 premium mustang, im not really familiar with the geometry or how the front suspension works on the s197's, so i have a few questions..

-Do you need caster camber plates? He wasnt a 1-1.5 drop in the front.. if you do, will the gt500 mounts work?
-And what are the best entry level shocks and struts? We were looking at konis and frpp's.

This package deal looks to be a good one..

Input, experience and opinions welcomed!

I'll suggest the FRPP stuff here. GT500 mounts, adjustable shocks/struts are a good upgrade. The nice thing with this set is you get everything you need to replace your stock stuff, and don't need to reuse anything other than nuts and bolts.

You won't need caster/camber plates, but you may want to look into an adjustable Panhard bar after you lower it if the axle is offset to one side. It will be more noticeable with a larger drop.

It's a DD, with Bo intentions of racing of any sort. Just looking to lower it properly. Would you suggest the frpp shocks and struts over the tokico hps and the entry level konis?

The FRPP stuff is a rebadged Tokico D-spec with a unique valving from Dynamic/Multimatic. On my adjustable ones, you can dial it in all across the board from soft to stiff. Based on what I've heard from some Koni installs, you're re-using hardware. If you're looking at the FRPP stuff, go with the adjustable shocks/struts, not the static ones. That way you can fine tune the ride how you like.

I'd also go with the FRPP springs. 1" drop (P springs I believe). Give the car a uniform wheel gap without sacrificing ride quality.

Here's my suggestion:
M-18000-A: Coupe dynamic strut/shock kit
M-5570-A: Jounce bumper kit
M-18183-C: Front strut mounts
M-5300-N: V6 1.25" lowering springs (only ones FRPP makes for the V6)

That should be everything you need to assemble and install them. Those part numbers can be searched for anywhere. If you want a little less of a drop, you'll have to look elsewhere for springs.

No problem! Let us know what you go with. Also, check the spring/strut checklist thread for install tips.
