Front wheels not centered

Has anyone else seen this on their car? ('12 GT)

The front wheels are not centered side to side, they are shifted roughly 1/2" towards the passenger side.

The reason I noticed it now i think is because I just installed new wider wheels and tires, and they are closer to the outside of the fender and therefore easier to notice any mis-match.

Another thing is, I did remove the k member when I did my header install, but I did scribe marks for where it was before removing and everything is lined back up to the original lines.
Plus these cars have 2 alignment holes, 1 on each side of the front of the k member which line up with holes in the frame.
I just got done checking those holes and they look like they're lined up very very close.

It's really bugging me now, but I have no idea if it was like this the whole time.

Can anyone else with at least 255 tires take a look at their car?

Does the engine seem to be slightly shifted to the passenger side? Did you use plumb bobs when you marked the location of the K before and after removal?

I would also say it's possible to be toe but then it should be out on either side, not both sides facing the same directions. Not super technical but see if you can places a level on the engine, and either fender and take pictures to see if the level is the same on either side and if the engine is not pitched at all.

If you removed the K member, get the alignment checked. It may be shifted to one side.

On a side note, do you ever think of changing your profile picture to Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein stabbing himself in the leg?

My first move would be to swap the wheels from side to side. Mismatches have been known to occur.

That was the first thing I tried.

The only thing I can think of is that it was off to begin with and I just never noticed with the stock wheels.
The k member is aligned to the frame alignment holes now. What are the chances it wasn't aligned from factory?
The only way to adjust the side to side movement is by moving the whole k member right?

An alignment is the first thing ill do once she's out of storage, ill have a better idea of any issues then.

Does everyone elses side to side alignment look good?

Try to see if it is square with the rear, check maximum's site, they have install instructions for installing a k and show you how to square it. Is one side closer to the front of the car?

Looks like you shifted it OP. Take that k member loose and the frame may shift on you. Aligning your original marks won't mean a thing once frame tension is released. Get the alignment checked for sure. The problem will be that most alignment shops will not loosen the k member and move it over for you to adjust it. Also get a good print out of your before measurements and post it.

I have every intention of getting the alignment checked ASAP. Another problem I see arising is that I have not had it aligned since I lowered it and put Koni's in. I know the alignment will be off but will not know what it is from.

Is it a different type of check for them to do to check if the front wheels are in line with the rears? Or is that part of a typical alignment job?

I may just loosen the k member back up and go ahead and re center it using a plumb bob off the fenders.

I never thought of the frame moving on me, but I suppose with the way it was sitting on 4 jack stands probably had some different stresses on it from when it was originally put together.

Should be maximummotorsports.com you don't just want to align the K from the front but square it using the rear as well. They have installation instructions for their K's and that should give you an idea of how to square it.

The new 3D alignment machines do a great job of letting you know how all 4 wheels are aligned. I'm really curious to see that print out. If all else fails, a set of camber/caster plates should help.
