Eibach Coilover HELP

Installed the Multipro R2 coil over kit on my 2013 Mustang. Having a couple problems

1. Lots of clunking at low speeds, more than I've ever heard from a pillowball set up.
2. Coil Bind, so bad to the point that the car will not drive straight after going around a corner, until I pull over and crank the wheel in the opposite direction, until lock.

So far what I have found, is that on the passenger side, the upper spring seat, will not rotate, period, unless I take all torque off the piston rod nut. On the driver side it will rotate, but is a bit stiff.

Eibach is sending me 4 "Isolators" Which they describe as "The isolator is the small thin “plate” that sits between the spring and the upper mount. We use a tight tolerance to avoid any excessive play. We think you might have one that is out of spec."

Really, I want a new pillow ball mount, and pillow ball bearings, but it doesn't seem like they are going to send me that.

I attached a file, the thing I marked with a Red X, is the what I am referring to as the upper spring seat.

You've already been told your install is all wrong. More opinions from people who don't know won't help you.

What is all wrong about it, Eibach has confirmed everything appears to be installed correctly. I posted here to see if someone else has any experience with it.

If you can tell me why the upper spring seat will no rotate, or what is generating my clunk, please share.

You're probably missing a spacer or have the spacers stacked wrong. If you actually got them preassembled than you need to take them apart in any case as the springs are on the wrong end. A month ago I talked to a Eibach tech and pointed out the springs were all messed up and he admitted I was right. Some web site show it correct the heavy spring in the front and some show it wrong with the heavy spring in the back. You need to pull it all apart in any case then you can see if the upper spring seat is binding on something there is a flat bearing between the spring seat and that top back piece or if the spacers are right.

Do you know what the correct front and rear spring rates are, that are supposed to be supplied with this kit? Also, this bearing, is it like a pin bearing, or just like a washer? I want to know what is supposed to be there so when I pull it apart I can tell what is wrong, or missing.

The thrust bearing is flat like a washer. There are three pieces a race on either side of a carrier with little rollers in it. It is possible that these three pieces are fastened together and won't come apart it is easy to see as the two outer sections will turn in opposite directions really easy. If they rotate but feel like they are metal to metal it is possible the rollers are missing or contaminated. From your pictures it looks like the bearing is between the upper spring seat and the black bell shaped hat. That would mean the hat won't rotate freely but the spring should rotate along with the shock body. But if they are the same as the ones Gmitch had his bearings were on top of the hat under a cap and the cap was clamped to the ball in the camber plate with a spacer. There is no way of knowing if the bearing is in there until you pull the struts off.

Rereading your first post it does sound like your thrust bearing is missing.
