Advice needed on staggered bullitt wheels
Advice needed on staggered bullitt wheels
First off please forgive me if I sound like a noob in this thread... Trying to figure out the basics here! Anyways to the question, I have had my 2010 v6 for about 3 weeks now and one thing has become apparent to me... The stock 17x7 rims are ugly... So I'm considering an upgrade to 18 inch bullitt rims but need some advice! I love the look of the deep dish bullitt rim from american muscle but I am concerned about drivability. Now my 2010 is a daily driver and is most likely never going to see a day at the track. My concern is with the mpg loss of a staggered setup with 18x9's up front and 18x10's in the rear. Is anyone here running this setup? If so did you notice a significant decrease in mpg? Am I better off with a set of 18x8 all around? Any advice would be appreciated!

Personally, I can't speak to someone running staggered rims and MPG. I can't imagine it would be a drastic difference. It shouldn't be a deal breaker. But you won't be able to rotate your tires, and THAT could be a deal breaker to you.
How many Kms annually will you be putting on your car? Driving it in the winter? Year round?
If so, will you have a second set of rims for winter with winter tires? If running year round all seasons with high Kms, you won't be able to rotate front to rear with a staggered set up, so think about with.
Are you going to upgrade the suspension or lower the car?

As others have mentioned, fuel economy is probably a lesser concern.
For a daily driver car, anything you can do to maximize tread wear and get long life out of your tires is key, in my opinion. I love the staggered look but tire rotation can only be from left to right sides (unless you get uni-directional tires). I daily drive my 2010 about 18,000 miles per year, and that means tire replacement about every 2 years or so.

It made no noticeable difference in MPG's in my car when I went to a staggered setup wider tires. I have never cared about rotating tires, just replace them as needed. Get yourself a tread depth gauge and use that to watch for correct tire pressure, abnormal wear and fix the problem early. If your front end alignment is good your tires should wear fine. Go for it
Well the car is currently my only daily driver so I do plan to drive it year round. I drive about 70 miles per day for work and school. Per year I'm probably going to be putting about 15,000 miles on the car. I currently don't plan to have a second set of rims for the winter so yes I know rotating the wheels will be an issue... The car currently has 43,000 miles on the clock so within the next year or so I do plan to upgrade the suspension and possibly lower the car. The reason I am considering the staggered setup is because american muscle doesn't offer deep dish 18x9's and I do like the wider rims in the rear... Just trying to figure out if it will be more trouble then its worth to go with this setup.
Edit: They do indeed offer deep dish 18x9.... Guess reading the wheel description a little closer helps...

Just run 18x9 all around and run a 1" spacer in the rear. You'll get close to the look you want but you'll still be able to rotate. Get 275/40/18s and you'll have a nice beefy look front and back.
I'm gonna go with 18x9's all around. AM recommends a 255 tire so a 275 would fit as well? (Again I'm a complete newbie on tire sizes)
I'd personally go 275s because with the spacer in the rear, the 255s look too skinny to me.
As I understand it, american muscle stopped offering the 18x9 deep dish wheels not to long ago. Its that or indeed I am missing something because I can't seem to find them on their site. Thanks guys for the advice! I think soon here I am gonna pull the trigger on the staggered setup.

In my eyes that looks perfect! I do prefer the silver over black but as far as how the design looks! My opinion is that the wheels should be flush to just a tiny bit beyond the fender flare. Thanks for the picture!!
What size tires are you running?
Thanks guys!! My tires are 255/45-18
