Thanks. I'm going to make another video revving all the way to 7K and a close up of the tips and under.

Steve,
What a great thread. I really enjoy your commentary and pictures.

How did you import a US spec Mustang into Germany without modifying lights, mirrors, restraints, etc, etc, etc?

I'm in the US military so I just have to pass the TÜV inspection. That's one reason why I waited to get exhaust until after I got my car inspected. I got a two year inspection this time so I won't have to worry about it for a couple years. They are ridiculous with sound levels here. A friend of mine failed for sound on his 13' GT 500 with stock mufflers. He had to put stock GT mufflers on to pass. Looked ridiculous but passed. I'm saving my stock mufflers in case I run into that. My wife isn't happy about the spare parts hanging around but whatever. Friends of mine have tuned and Ring prepped M3's and we are about even with my stock car on the autobahn until we are well knot triple digit speeds.

First off. Thank you for your service.
That makes sense that you are allowed an exemption otherwise a GT would be virtually impossible to import and cost nearly as much if not more to convert above the base price of the car plus taxes.

Any thought of taking yours to the Ring? I ordered an M3 a few years ago and almost did the European delivery option so I could spend time in Germany, do a couple of laps of the Ring, and drive the Autobahn.
Wish I had.

So I recently joined a car club here in Europe made up of Germans and Americans. We try and hit up as much of the car culture here in Europe and not just Germany. Here are some of our escapades as well as some updated pics of my car.

Who gets to hang out in the middle of the Autobahn while cars are flying by on the other side at over 100+ mph? The guy in the blue hat is me.

A great time was had by all of us. We made some new friends and then cruised back home in good company at triple digit speeds.

Enjoy......

I love them so much I use more gas listening to them while I downshift. I can't wait to get the catless H pipe and a tune.

Haha! Been thinking about going full Kooks. Also thinking about a 2015 50th Anniversary Edition.

Decisions, decisions, lol.

Full Kooks is what I'm doing when I get back to the states.

Both blue M3's and white M3 have done more than 100 laps at the Ring.

Looks like a blast - I would love to run around the 'Ring someday.

Also slightly in love with that blue BMW. If money were no object, I would own one.

I really wanted one as well but I like having money in my pocket more than owning an M3. The white one with a tune is only "slightly" faster than my stock 5.0 up to about 145ish MPH when it starts to pull away. From a 60 roll I pull on him a half car length in 4th. Then every time the DCT shifts he catches up a bit till we are half way into triple digits. Fun times. They are awesome though.

This is my drive home from work. I got up to almost 100mph a couple of times on the long stretches. I love driving in Germany. I do need to take my wheels off and see if my brake backing plates are bent a little because I get some sort of squeak after driving hard. Might just be brake material that's stuck on there somehow. It goes away after a little while.

Great video! What did you use to record it? Yes living and driving here in Germany great! That road probably has a 100 kph speed limit and is barely wide enough for two cars!
