Here are some photos of the small trip I took up to where I used to live in Bamberg, Germany. I took the back roads on the way up there. Very scenic and almost the same type of scenery as the Pacific Northwest where I'm from.

Thanks. I'm going to take some more road trips with more detail and information once the weather warms up. I love all the little back roads that are here. I'm in Bavaria and the small towns are everywhere. There are like 6 castles within 30 minutes of me so that's some of the stuff I want to go see.

 

I ended up driving by one of the BBS factories during one of my trips. It was a long detour, but it was cool.

 

I wonder where that is. When do you think you will be heading to the Ring? I want to try and go this month. Not this coming weekend but the next when I have a 4 day.

 

Not sure, I'll be in Spain this weekend and get home next Saturday. Down to go when the weather is decent, lol. Have to google where the BBS factory was, just happened upon it on accident.

 

I tagged my car with a couple of decals I got from a Stance site. I figured since I am in Germany and I drive an American icon for a car I might as well clarify why.

 

nice. .. maybe if you have some time- visit some car museum like the porsche. that will be some road trip... hehe

 

I'm going there maybe tomorrow. It's not too far from me. Neither is the Mercedes Museum and Bimmer World.

 

That is so cool. I really want to see some castles, that stuff really interests me, go and take pics so I can see. That will do before I can make it out there!

Got a little lost and had to turn around and take a leak. I'm sure the farmers didn't mind.




Stopped at the bottom of the town near the small creek. The streets were rather narrow here.

Tried to do a Panoramic shot of the castle but my skills are lacking. I was having elbow problems at the time. Stupid arm bars.




Leaving this cool town. I'm going to have to come back here in the summer.

Stopped in this town named Velden. The river turns at the south end after flowing through the middle of town. There was a cool looking shrine of some sort on the hillside that was carved out of the stone. There were also nature trails that you can walk all along the bank of the river.

This was a cool retired train car that sparked my interest after leaving Velden. Good place to get a drink before getting on the train. This was near the outdoor Bahnhof (train station).

Those are awesome! I love the castle and shrine pics, you just wonder the stuff that went on there when they were relevant

nICE pictures- Does your car spark any interest from the locals German? I know Mustang are rare in Eurpoe.

Thanks. The monument is a Prussian, WWI, WWII memorial. I looked it up after my oldest son let me know.

 

Very cool pics Steve. The Porsche museum is really cool, still haven't made it to MB museum, hopefully before I head out though. I really need to stop and enjoy the view instead of just the roads more often.
