Lost my GHIG... :( :( :(

Hi all - haven't really been active much, got real busy with work and family and all but I wanted to share an update on my GHIG 13...

A few weeks ago this 20 year old girl ran a stop sign and hit my front passenger side (before the wheel) - I nearly avoided her... She was driving with a cat on her lap and not paying any attention...

Damage estimate was $19,500, to top it off, she doesn't have enough insurance to cover all the damages as she pushed me onto a curb (no pedestrians there thankfully) and into a 2017 Dodge Caravan... So my insurance has deemed my car a total loss... Just signed over paperwork this morning...

There is good news.... with the mods and the condition and the rarity of the car, my insurance company came legit with a total loss payment so that's going down on a downpayment for a 2018 GT... I'll still pop in here from time to time and - - - L U R K - - - as that's what I do best, but I love seeing all the great pics and stuff, I sorely miss the 2013 GT - had track cal - lopey idle rocks - but active valve on the 18 might work, I'll probably get new AB's... dunno yet...

Anyhow - nobody was hurt in the accident, but my 12 year old was in the car, scared him big time... The girl had an accident 2 months earlier, and she got sighted on site for the accident... I hope she doesn't drive for a while...

See ya'll 'round...

Sorry about your car. While a car is just a thing, we still become attached to them. Good that no one was hurt.
When my stepdaughter first started driving, she had multiple acidents, rear ending 3 times, backed into someone once, plus several incidents of running off the road and slicing the inner sidewall of a tire. On her last accident, we were able to see the phone logs on Verizon's website and prove she was texting and driving. There was 1-2 messages per minute to/from her phone from the time she left for school until the accident. We took texting off of her line she went accident-free for the next 5 years while she was still our responsibility. She hated us for it, but we had to consider her safety, along with the general public.

Wow, scary stuff. Glad no one was hurt. Sounds like that girl doesn't know how to drive or just doesn't give a **** about people around her. In other words, a moron.
Sorry about your GHIG, but at least you are getting money for it to get a brand new Mustang!
Good luck going forward!

Wow, that really sucks. Glad your insurance company came through. So the car was rare, GHIG, so now it is even more so. Best wishes for your new one, whatever you end up with. Glad no one was hurt. This will be the one you look back on years from now and say, "Boy I sure wish I still had my 2013 GHIG Stang. If only that idiot girl with the cat would have been paying attention."

Thanks all - yes, I will always miss the green car...

BUT - picked up a GT Premium (auto, my back is bothering me, AND the a10 is amazing) - I have the performance pack, active valve, and the upgraded shaker with nav.

The thing just rocks... HUGE difference between 13 & 18... Once the break in period is over, I'm in trouble... LOL

It was late when I got home, here is a dealer pic...

Here is a pic of the damage to my poor green car...

Thank goodness that neither yourself nor you're 12 year old were hurt. As for that 20-year-old girl who caused the accident, she's obviously nothing more than a selfish, inconsiderate fuc*ing moron that has no concern towards anybody other than just herself. IMHO after being cited for 2 accidents in just 2 months, her driver's license should be revoked permanently as she doesn't deserve having the privilege of owning a car, let alone deserve the privilege in having a driver's license, to begin with

You sure got that right, Tony. As I couldn't agree more about that girl being a moron who obviously doesn't a sh*t towards other people/motorists when it comes to sharing the roads and highways with them, especially when it concerns being a safe and responsible driver

Ouch. Boy doesn't take much to cause a total... She did kinda creamed that front right corner though and deployed both air bags...

New one is very nice.

Wishing you better luck with this one. Watch out for the other guy (or cat lady in this case )

It is surprising what will total a car these days. I am glad that no one was hurt and you were able to find a new ride quickly.

Wow, GHIG does not look totaled, but probably would have never been the same again. Hope the Blue one treats you just as well if not better.

Thanks to all - really do appreciate having a place to talk about this. I will be meeting with a lawyer to discuss my options, I strongly believe that this young lady was being completely irresponsible and needs to pay for her mistake, it's one thing to have an accident, but driving with a cat on her lap shows a complete lack of responsibility, and carelessness that goes beyond an accident. Had I not stopped as quickly as I had, she could have seriously injured my 12 year old.
