I've got a new Lava Red 2012 GT, six speed, Brembo package, and I'm loving it! Have not seen another like it on the road, and really love the classy look of the interior too.

Was thinking about adding stripes or color panels (like the Roush) on the hood and trunk, or maybe just side stripes. But I can't decide what color for the vinyl.

Red might be too flashy or clash with the paint, not sure about white or black... Maybe flat gold... might bring out the flake in the paint.

Anybody done a stripe? Photos? Thoughts?

I have always thought that a Deep Red or maybe Blood Red side stripes would accent the Lava color nicely. JMO

 

Metallic white stripes with metallic silver outlines will look AMAZING.

That does look amazing! I think super bring silver is the only color that would really make the LR pop.

 

A dark shade of gold flake would be nice. Double stripe shelby style.

 

Lava red mustang is hard to find..i want one but end up getting the black one,but its pretty good too.

 

Ya... I've only seen the lava red in v6's thus far...

 

Has anyone tried or seen a matte grey or black stripes on lava red?

 

See if you like any of these. Black and Dark Gray does not show up well at all on this color...

Since I've got the Lava red now, I'm reading this with interest. I don't think I want vinyl again, because the day after I do that a cat will jump up on the hood and try to keep from sliding off. Again.

I think the white looks too 'stark'... but Ford White Platinum I think would look awesome. Or maybe the White Suede. In any kind of light, I see more dark brown in mine than black, which might make the suede color better.

 

I didn't think I'd like (any color) stripes on the Lava Red - but that dark red looks pretty nice.
