Will there be a 2013 Boss 302?
Does anyone know for a fact, does anyone have 100% proof there will be a 2013 Boss 302 Mustang?
Just because there were some paint code released, and the Speed channel showed some different stripes on a TV documentary, doesn't mean much.
Other reports say "Oh those sneaky little interns. No matter how hard automakers try to keep things a secret, there is always someone willing and able to feed information to the ever-hungry public. The latest morsel served up is that the Ford Mustang Boss 302, fresh off of its comeback, will be improved for the 2013 model year with new technologies, including Ford’s latest SYNC and MyKey systems, and a 4.2-inch LCD message center placed in the instrument cluster." What does that mean? How do we know that's not just simple improvements for the base model?
I do have a friend that works for Ford and he hasn't seen anything official yet, just rumors. My wife spoke to the Ford reps at Barrett Jackson tonight and they told her that "the decision has not been made yet".
I had to pass on a 2012 that I had ordered because I could not sell a car and motorcycle. Needed the cash and the room in the garage. I was thinking I would have another chance in the spring of 2013.
Not looking to offend anyone or start a pissing match, just looking to see if anyone has any hard evidence of a 2013 model. Thanks KFB

The 2012s are selling well and getting great reviews so I would say it is a safe bet that they will be around as a 2013 model. The Bullitt was a 2 year, even though it didn't sell well. Maybe because it didn't sell well.
But the question I have is; will the styling of the Boss remain the same or will it get the 2013 refresh the rest of the Mustangs are supposed to get?
The 2013s are supposed to get the longer snout off the GT500s and an updated rear end. That woud be awesome if the Boss got that treatment as well. Plus adding tech package or at least basic SYNC, HIDs, leather option...

As for styling changes....I'm interested to see what Ford has planned but I'm cautiously optimistic, I don't think a GT500 front end is the right way to go. The Shelby should be unique in it's own right.

Leather??? Why would you want to slip and slide in your seat when driving a Boss?

Well, when I said leather, I was picturing the Recaros from the GT500 - leather and alcantara - more upscale but still grippy.
I agree the GT500 should be separated by its styling, but if the common Mustang is going to get GT500 styling cues, then perhaps the GT500s are going to change as well.
They have to suffice for 2 selling years until the 2015s hit the lots. And once pics of the concepts come out, the 2013s and 2014s will sit on dealer lots unless Ford makes them somewhat more desirable.
Heck, they aren't outselling the Camaros now, just imagine how many people will sit and wait to buy once the 2015s are anounced, or even after spy shots start to come out.

I don't think Ford should do that to current GT500 owners. They paid a good buck for their cars and they should remain somewhat unique.

Not to be argumentative, but the 2010 GT500 was totally unfair to anyone who bought the 2009 KR. And the 2011 GT500 was unfair to the 2010 owners and the 2012 SVT package was unfair to the 2011 owners. So...there seems to be a pattern here.
Honestly, the GT500 styling has not changed since 2010 - just like the standard Mustangs. So the 4th year of production is not a bad time to refresh. Especially with the Camaro LT1 coming out and Mustang sales being slow.
It only gets better for Mustang buyers. The longer they wait, the better the cars get. I can't wait til November 17th when the 2013s are expected to be unvieled at the LA Auto Show. Bring it on Ford - improve the breed.

It's really not the same thing. Models always improve, so it's not surprising to see current GT500's being better than past GT500's.
But that's very different than a 2013 V6 or GT having similar STYLING to a 2010-12 GT500.
Each model should have unique styling and features that sets each model apart from the others. JMO.

Whammer, I 100% agree - that's why Ford is most likely going to update the styling of the GT500s to keep them unique in 2013.
Personally, I think Ford has been doing an excellent job of adding content each year. So I can't imagine they would make a V6 look like a GT500 without making the GT500 look totally different at the same time.

I've heard and read multiple times about Ford adding a 4.2" LCD message center in the instrument panel on future Mustangs. Anyone have any guesses as to what it will show? Obviously they're taking this from the F-150's/Superduties but alot of the features shown on the trucks is off-road and towing data.

Thanks for the replys. I was/ am a little worried because I didn't think the sales numbers were so great. I could be, probable am wrong. I thought Ford trying to make and sell 4,000 street Bosses and 1,500 LS models. The car I reluctantly had to pass on was #1462 and that was a early Sept. delivery.
It did look to me that Ford put a lot of time and effort into this project. I'm sure it's marketing 101. Ford could waiting to see what Chevy had up it"s sleeve, just like Nikon waits to see what Canon does and vice versa. Structure your marketing based upon the competition, plan your advertising and then release your product.
OK, I hoping for a 2013 Grabber Blue Boss 302, Recaro package, 460hp and a shaker hood!

Wrong. The 2013 Boss LCD will show the same offroad functions as for the truck. The 2013 TracKey invokes 4WD, activates hydraulics that give 12" of lift, and initiates the hidden transfer case that gives low range 4WD. Plus all of the torque is trsnsferred down to the 500-2500rpm range. At least that is what my salesman's girlfriend told me.
