Wheel Alignment(s)

Pardon if this has been covered, but I could find nothing that relates specifically to the Boss.

I was wondering what wheel alignment(s) you guys are running. I street only, but like to run the "twistys" as the my bike friends say.

I should have had mine aligned prior to delivery, but forgot, a situation I will remedy shortly, hence the reason for this post.

I always ran a bit more negative camber on my Z06 which made the dealer nervous just like it did the car, but I liked the turn in.

Cheers,

Curtis

I think the Boss is set to 1.3% negative camber, if you wanted better turn in response you would want some toe out I believe, though this will make straight line driving a little squirrely at higher speeds.

I have none, I had read somewhere about the stock camber. I would try it out stock first, I know everyone says that. Once you do that and you want more turn in or more rubber into turns then I would change the caster/camber and toe. I think on the track for the time being the stock camber and toe is fine, still allows the car to be driven pretty hard and you can then drive it home without worrying about aggressive camber ruining your tires or the toe not allowing you to drive straight at high speeds.

I personally think about -2.0 camber is the sweet spot for a mainly street driven Boss. I also go with 0 toe and factory caster. With this setup, I've never had any issues on S197's.

Curtis,
I had about 5000 on my '11 GT and 7500 on my '10 GT with this set up and only have about 1000 on my Boss. The '11 GT I pushed pretty hard and the tires were starting to show a little extra wear. I would say they would've been good for 9000-10000 miles. My '10 GT I never tracked so I didnt notice any difference. On the Boss I don't have enough miles to judge yet. I also have 2 sets of wheels/tires for the Boss. One for track and one for street so that probably wont be a good judge.

Curtis,
In case you have not seen these, here are the alignment specs for MY12, I assume they are the same for MY13. Looking at these you you can techically take the camber to -1.7 on a bass BOSS and still be within Ford allowed tolerances for the street. This would help with turn-in as I understand it, but there would have to be some trade-off in wear, as there is always a trade off. I have no experience with changing the camber on the BOSS but if I was going to track the car occasionally I might set mine to the max neg. camber in the chart. Others go further but they do a good bit of track time, or so I have read.

Thanks MoscowBoss,

Looks like one could go out to -1.05 thru say -1.1 an be right at the Laguna Seca settings, which I'm sure do not noticeably increase tire wear.
