As soon as the sand and mag chloride starts flying, game over man, game over.
BTW... I got the exhaust discs. Awesome work. Thanks Scott.

However when December rolls around and your cars are tucked away under cover in a cold garage - I will be zipping around Daytona
I will even post a vid or two just so you can remember what it was like to drive the Boss

[1] "Big Boy track" = a track that is very likely to severely punish those who "run out of talent" in certain corners.

Yep, I'm right there with you guys. I also live in a flat and boring area.
My wife and I just got back from a weekend road trip with the Boss. We ended up going to Southern Indiana and followed the Ohio river from east to west. Lots of hills and curves. Had a great time but after 810 miles, the car is bug splattered, dusty and the front rims look like I just spent the day at the track. Wow, the stock pads throw a lot of dust around.
Tomorrow - oil change and a good washing.

Mosport is great for sure but there simply aren't enough track days there and it is 4 hours from home. Used to go a lot back in the day when I lived in Toronto. Will be hitting it soon though.

And I can't wait either! I'm calling it the 302J.
I ordered the number 15 in a removable & reusable vinyl circle for the track.

You can personalize it just about any way, size, color, letters, numbers, magnetic, or reusable vinyl
I went with the 8" 15, the circle will be 17" total

Ok, so we've been discussing the potential grille mod to help cool the Boss on very hot and humid track days like we can get here in the Midwestern summer. We saw that Ford Racing has converted the 302S grille to cut out the fog openings and replace with wire mesh. We were heading down that path last night at my buddy's house, but took a detour. I had initially thought trying to just drill out the holes in the "fake" honeycomb mesh fog openings. We were going to start cutting out the entire fog by pilot drilling those holes until we got enough material to use a die grinder. After drilling the first 3 holes with a 1/4" bit and seeing how fast it was going, and how strong the structure appeared to be, we just kept going. 190 holes later and my "fake" mesh fogs are now functional! I calculated it created an additional 9.33 square inches of additional airflow. When you compare it to the rest of the grille opening visually, I would say it almost doubles the airflow into the upper radiator. The lower radiator is almost completely exposed already.
I decided to use a 5/16" drill bit because I thought it fit the hexagon a little better. Still have to get a little touch up paint.
The tough part was getting up the nerve to drill the first hole, the rest were a piece of cake.

Yep.
Dean how is the structural rigidity? The reason I went with 1/4" was it looked like 5/16" would bite into the raised fake mesh material and potentially weaken it. From your pics it doesn't look like you really removed any of that material. After reading the excerpt from the article about high revs and heat on the Coyote motor, unfortunately I apparently I fall into that "minuscule " number of drivers that need a finned oil cooler. I'm not sure another 1/16" on the fogs is going to move the needle enough to make a noticeable difference for me.
