The pedestal spoiler is not my style, thats why when I ordered my car I ordered spoiler delete. I bought a 3D Carbon GT500 spoiler and had it painted and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I can say SoFlaBoss is that you may have received a bad one.

Here is a site with a TON of wings all in one place. I sort of like the old Cobra R wing, or the 3D carbon wing...

The defective 3DCarbon GT500 style spoiler was the one they offered back in 2006, and the first version of that spoiler were mostly defective. The ends would lift up very soon after installation. 3DCarbon's first attempt was to have everyone remove the spoiler and reapply tape, which didn't help. Then 3DCarbon came out with a new version that used an extra bolt on each side at both ends. This cured the the lifting, but the quality not even close to the OEM GT500 spoilers. The surface soon became wavy in appearance. This was my experience with my 2005 GT. Soon after I bought my 2008 Shelby GT, I installed an OEM GT500 spoiler on it that uses only the original four holes and it was perfect! This is why I install only OEM spoilers.

Here's my earlier posting, if you care to read more and see some photos.

Also, here is the only photo I have where you can see the extra bolts that keep the revised spoiler from lifting. Notice how close the edge the holes had to be drilled.

i had the 3dcarbon gt500 spoiler on my 10, had it for almost a year before i sold the car. i ordered it painted from 3dcarbon and even the GT500 owners in my local club though it was factory. if you get the 3Dcarbon painted one, they even paint the gurney flap area black. top notch product, perfect fit too. was cheaper painted than the factory one with no paint and around here painting of decent quality adds another $100 or more to the price. i will say the packaging wasn't great at the time, it had some mars in the finish i buffed out and then it was perfect. apparently shortly after that they packaged them better.

my Gb 10:

I usually don't care for Grabberblue, but that one is very nice.

Well, I pulled the trigger on this wing from American Muscle:

LINK

Non-OEM GT500 type that AM claims is "manufactured to higher than OEM specifications." I guess time will tell.

$329.99 painted, free shipping. If it doesn't work out at least a fortune isn't lost.

Even with the GT500 spoiler I'd go OEM. The Gurney flap is painted on the 3D version while it's a separate piece on the OEM. Rumor was Ford was going to make different heights of the flap to adjust downforce but I don't know if that's ever going to happen.

Edit: that company makes nice stuff, i see its DG Customs, they buy 3DCarbon typically and paint it in house.

So the GT500 wing with the Gurney flap bolts right on with no mods?

Nice choice. You will be be very happy with the GT500 rear wing. I installed the aftermarket 3D carbon GT500 wing painted and I am completely happy with it. If your removing a factory wing there will be no drilling. Post a picture when complete.

Well I'm taking the advice of some here and getting the OEM version of the GT500 wing from partscheap. I like the separate gurney flap and think it will go well with the black trim and contrast well with the PW paint the wing is getting.

As long as I pay shipping back and don't open the box, American Muscle said they wouldn't charge a restocking fee for the first wing I bought today.

NICE.

The white wing just fits sooo nicely with the KB Boss. I love the gurney too. Didn't even know what a gurney was before this thread, but it looks as if the accent will tie-in very nicely with the black plastic trim, grille, rockers etc.

I think the OEM one that I'm getting from partscheap comes primed. The one in the above pic looks like a type of fiber.

I'm thinking I should go with the 302S grille with the white surround like they're running at Track Attack. I've looked but can't see where to find them. Most of them for sale now seem to be all black.

The Boss 302s grill is black. You'll need to paint it. I'm keeping mine blue, but accenting the lower grill intake with white. Haven't decided whether the wing will be blue or white as yet...

That photo is a PS of the CF spoiler I did in white. The OEM spoilers do come with a white primer. I like the GT500 spoiler a lot but once I found out the V6 wing was originally designed for the Boss project I changed my mind. LOL All of the white striped cars should have come with a white rear spoiler from the factory. Now get rid of the high gloss black wheels and you'll really be looking good.

Check the thread below for info on grilles. I'm going to buy the Cobra Jet grille and it comes from Ford Racing painted white. The reason why the BTA cars have white surrounds is because that's what FR shipped them. That matched better than them all being orange. The 302S cars came in PW or CO.

Good to hear the OEM LS comes with drill templets.

However, would be good to have some advice from those who have added this spoiler. Could someone post some tips on this mod/install. Its on my to do list.

Thank you in advance.

Mount the CF one and paint the Gurney flap white.

The white is the PW used on all the Mustangs for 2012.

These seem a bit expensive, IMO. I just purchased a 3dCarbon GT500 wing, pre-painted to match my factory Race Red color, no tax, free shipping, $297, from CJPony. Others in this forum have done the same, with excellent results. I'll use the stock four holes, with no drilling. And I'll keep the gurney flap black. I'll post pics once I install it.
