Vehicle Number Plate Preservation

Anyone have a good idea to preserve the data plate on the intake, something clear that will stand up to the heat and not yellow but clear enough so you don't know it is there?

Some clear coat paint should help. Like they use to clear coat polished wheels.

I am afraid it may turn yellow over time? I was wondering if there is something else out there besides paint that may work but I may have to go down that line.

Today's clear coats, like today's paints, are much better than they used to be and shouldn't yellow. You could have someone cover it with clear plastic like used on Clear Bras.

...however, you won't be able to take it off if you want to sell it as a completely stock collectors' Boss 40 years from now.

I wonder if the number plate would have it's own part #, and if you could get a spare made from Ford ?
