I only use the track key! Use it anytime you want!

Wile-
I do not believe Mustang Freak fully appreciated your question.
How many miles are on your Boss before the dealer loaded the TK program into the ECM?
If the car is "new" and had delivery miles only, I would think it prudent to follow the Boss engine breakin procedure detailed by Ford in the Owner's Manual Boss Supplement, page 5. Others may disagree and encourage you to drive it hard right off the showroom floor. I tend to think the Ford engineers know best, but choose as you like.
The supplement does not reference any TK use/nonuse but again during the recommended breakin period, I would think use of our black/silver key would be my choice. Many of us early 2012 owners had no choice but to use the black key as Ford Racing kept promising and promising to deliver the TK software which was very frustrating. Many had their Bosses for nearly a year before CARB, Badillo and FR finally agreed to the watered down released version we got.
If your car has over 1K miles on the odo, then Mustang Freak's comment is correct. You can use it anytime however there are certain time and engine temperature paramaters which must be achieved before some of the TK attributes are enabled.

Oh good info! I did only use the grey key until the first 1000 miles were run! I forgot since it has felt like forever I've been using the red key! :-)
