Top speed governor on the Boss
Does anyone else think it's a little weird that Ford keeps their Mustangs limited to 155mph when even something like the Challenger can do 180? I realize it's just racing on paper (for the most part), but still.

Yea I really was just curious what the top speed of the Boss might really be with that .65 last gear....assuming you had little drag and flat road. ;-) I'm to chicken to go past 130 anyway.....
Well at lease the Mustang doesn't have PCM encryption like the Challenger
Based on that experience, I'm thinkin' 5th gear is the one for the best speed on a stright-a-way.
Cheers,
Jouster
It's somewhat irrelevant for most road courses. I've hit 150 on the GPS at BIR going into Turn 1, but that's at the end of a mile long straightaway. Most tracks don't have that kind of runout. I was also on a 26" tall rear tire and didn't run out of gear in 5th...in the neighborhood of 7200-7300 RPM.
