Because the current from of available tires are terrible.

I'd love to have one of the following options:

AD08
Star Spec
Kumho XS
Nitto NT05
RS53

I can't believe I'm contemplating buying a set of Hankook Evos.

What size do you currently have and we can go from there?

There are Toyo Proxes 1 available and I have a set in my garage ready for the track. The Yokohama AD08's or Michelin PSS's in stock sizes would be nice.

The Evo is a good tire for the money. I replaced the stock Goodyears on my 2010 GT500 with them and they hooked up much better with stock power.

This.

I looked up the closest tire I could for the Pilot Super Sports and I think I could live with the mileage difference. But there are other good tires out there, I'm just a Michelin ham.

I'll look into them although I'd prefer R1Rs.

They're definitely on the short list of options.

I've tracked with a number of people who have been very impressed with their ability to resist heat after 15+ minutes of hot-lapping. I'd really like an option amongst the extreme performance summer tires though as I need to ditch my heat-cycled-to-death and overpriced P Zero Corsas.

If toyo makes your size I highly recommend them. Only Michelin barely tops Toyo's quality.

If you're mostly tracking your car and want street tires try the Michelin PSS or AD08's in the 255/35/19 and 295/30/19. They are an inch lower so you'll ride a 1/2" lower which will be a good thing on the track. Lowering the front splitter is a good idea.

The evos are a great street tire, especially at the price they ask; however I'd never contemplate running them on the track; so unless you have a set of track wheels & tires, I'd avoid em.

I just went back and read ShaneM's impressions on the S04s and think that will be my next tire. I don't want to compromise on size if possible and they sound more than adequate for my usage.

I need a **** tow vehicle.

BFGoodrich just released the g-Force Sport COMP-2 tire. Looks like they were running a few Boss's. I have not seen any prices yet but BFG's are normally reasonably priced.

The new BFG Comp 2's look promising. Too bad they didn't test them against the Pirelli's, the Michelin's, and Yokohama AD08's. I'll wait to see what C&D writes about them. Here's my favorite quote:

"Next we got to ride with some of the pro drivers, to see just how hard you could push these tires on the track. BFG wasn’t letting anyone drive the Mustang but I got a ride in one and let me say that the Boss is one killer track machine. Total M3 killer for a lot less $$$."

Notice how they saved the Bosses for the pro drivers.
