Those with Tiger Racing Hoods......

Any regrets on your purchase? Any issues with them?

Regrets, no
Issues yes. It was really cold 25 degrees and I had opened the hood to check the oil. And now I have to slight crack up the sides near the vents. Now I have to get it repainted

No issues yet, love seeing all the heat that comes out of it, since the OEM hood is like an insulator.

The carbon fiber Tiger hood we have works great. We have the version that does not use pins. It does flex noticeably at speed and as a result there are small flex cracks in the paint. I have seen this in all of the carbon fiber versions I have been around, so if you are buying it for cosmetic, it is the only negative issue I see.

The paint work on mine sucks and it was never properly fitted (I'll fix it one day when I can get a spare hand to help me line it all up), but that's no fault of the hood.

I'll put some aerocatches on mine at some point here, but at this time its survived track duty without issue.

Probably one of my favorite parts of my car.

Hijacking this thread to say I saw your post on reddit - took me a while to realize why your profile image looked so familiar...

I have had mine for a year with 25 track days, dozens of car washes and a daily driver when it's not snowing and I've had no issues and no regrets. I have the FG version.

The only issue I just thought of, that you may run into, is possibly having the body shop, if you have it put on at one, tell you that you can't drive it in the rain because the engine will get wet.

Whats the engine bay look like after you get caught in the rain? That's the one thing beside the money that gives me second thoughts. I do love the look though. It's a perfect look on the 2012.

The rain's a non-issue. Everything's sealed. Heck I run mine through the car wash a couple times a week.

Yeah no issues with the rain. After my last track weekend with 20 minutes at or near red line, I can park the car and not even need to lift the hood because its not that hot under there. Compare that to the stock hood which was basically tin foil keeping the heat in, don't paint it however until after running a lot of heat cycles into it, otherwise it will crack the paint.

Thats good to know. One more thing for the wish list. How does the CF look unpainted? Does it have a consistent patten? Does it even need to be painted?

This is why I ask about the rain getting in.

Mine is the body shop now getting painted. Hoping it is done tomorrow so I can take the boss to Bristol this weekend. I was told by a lot of folks that the rain thing wasn't an issue and I am hoping that is the case. All I need to do now is get the 302s grill and my mods are done for this year unless I cave in and do some gauges in the LS pod and maybe get the LS or a Shelby rear spoiler. Decisions decisions decisions.
