Test Look, Boss in Drag II

I bought some Race Star , (Dark Stars ) 15x10s and put one on the car to see how it will look, I had only 2 lugs and a jack under it, was just curious to see it.

Looks great! Are those M/T ET Street Radials, part# MTT-3755R (P295/55R15)? If so, they are the ones that I'm planning to mount on my new 15x10" Weld RT-S wheels. Thanks for showing the difference in height, stock versus the 27.8" I think. My only concern is that they might contact the fender if the car squats too much during launch.

Watch this video and check out my concern.

Yes they are MT/ET Street drag radials, but 275s 60
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...ith-17X45-And-

Im in a Drag Radial limited class , and 275s are the largest I can go.and all honestly I believe it will be more then enough..
I was wondering about that too but the tire has a nice radious on outer edge which should help even more.

Nice Look.

I also have a KB Boss and would like to add a drag radial soon.

When will you have a chance to run it and see how your 60ft time improve?

Did you already install the Steeda swaybar relocation brackets? If so, did you have to cut off anything? Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the schedule for runs.

Northern Illinois has track(s) opening early april.....assuming the weather cooperates.

Considering adding the drag radials and aluminum one piece drive shaft.

First I want to say that the black Racestars look very nice on your car. They just released direct bolt one's for the Ford lug pattern to replace the old ****ty unilug design which is notorious for bending and breaking lugs. I hope these are the ones that you got.

Both of the tires above are too big for a Boss. A 28" tall tire is not needed and a 275 50 15 will put you through the traps below the rev limiter in a Boss with room to spare. A 28" tall tire is going to put you even further from the peak powerband of the car and slow you down.

Here is the runner up at this past weekend's NMRA's Bradenton Spring Break Shootout running an 8.52 @ 165 with a 1.4x 60 foot running a 275 60 15 (28") Drag radial. When you leave on 13lbs of boost on the transbrake it hits harder than dropping the clutch in a Boss. This is a stock style suspension car.

This car needs a 28" tall drag radial, not a high 11/low 12 sec Boss.

Here is a Boss from last weekend at Bradenton on a 275 50 15 MT Et Drag Radial cutting a 1.7x 60 ft and running through the traps well before the rev limiter. With more practice a low 1.6 60ft is easily attainable

Bottom line, anything bigger than a 275 50 15 is too much tire.

I can't say for certain who this White Boss belongs to. All I know is that it is not mine as drag racing would most likely void your warranty.

Steeda brackets do requre you to cut the rear sway bar mount tabs off of the car. Running a 15x8 wheel does not require cutting and gives up little to no performance over a 15x10 with a stock to mildly modified car.

A car with a power adder might notice a difference but the car is hacked up at that point and cutting off the tabs is most likely a non issue.

The other day you posted "I hit rev limiter in mine with 26,
Though I agree I love the launch with the 26s I hit limiter and let off before finish line.", and now you agree 26" are better? ..I'm confused.

No, 26 were on 17 inch wheels, these are 28 + . Something around the original size of the Factory tires would work better IMO, The Factory tires are 27 1/4, These are alittle over 28 tall, The 26s from My 2004 Mach1 hit limiter real bad to the point I was gonna shift to 5th.
