Tax Value

Here in NC we have to pay a personal property tax on our vehicles. I'm just curious, for those of you that do (in any state), what is the assesed value on the boss? I'm expecting my tax bill any day and was just wondering what its basis is going to be.

Well, I pay about between 400.00-500.00 for registration every year. my sales tax was 8.75% so how long does he have to own his car to pass me?

Oregon doesn't have a pp tax on individuals but they do on business.

Many years ago when I was in biz I did a 5 yr lease for office equip. I get a pp tax bill. I said "I don't even own this stuff! At the end of 5 yrs they're taking it back unless I buy it then."

But that's how they do it. Property Tax on rented stuff. And Salem wonders why the OR economy is a long term "sucks!".

We pay an "excise tax" here in Indiana when registering a new car. ( or any car) It's price is contingent upon how nice of car you have. The better the car, the higher the pop. The BMV jerks also go by the high book value of what your car is worth and not what you paid. Sucks ***** everytime you renew.

AZ does that. Even tho I buy my cars for 4-8 thousand off they bill you for full price.
