Stock Market not Only Thing Down...LS $3k under MSRP
My Autotrader alert popped up this morning with a Black Boss for $45k-ish. I went to the dealer site and saw this....looks like an LS, what a deal. If I didn't want orange and a back seat so bad...

I called yesterday and they told me it was sold. The new owner hadn't picked it up yet. It is still on their website this morning though. I really don't think that someone was able to buy this LS for that price.

I suggest we let CS/Deysha know about each case as they come up. The documented cases can give ford some leverage to bring these dealers into line.

If the dealer puts the car on the internet with a VIN and price, it can be considered by many states as a formal statement of offer. Its not as binding as a signed contract obviously, but it still holds legal implications of which can be used against "bait and switchers". Further, the laws around truth in advertising could be utilized in a pinch, but to lesser effect.

I agree that it's pretty lousy for a business to advertise price A but when you call or visit, it's price B. Society doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior from a local food market or department store, but then again their prices aren't negotiable, up or down.
We did have one automobile manufacturer do set pricing, but now Saturn is out of business. Good thing too, I cringe everytime my mother in law drives by in her crappy little burgundy sedan...
