So here's what we need to know...

Let's compile a list of burning questions surrounding our soon-to-arrive Bosses. You know, the stuff we just HAVE to know. I'll lead off

1. What's the deal with the side exhaust restrictor plates? How loud removed?
2. Are the shocks just 5-step adjustable, or do they have infinite adjustment levels?
3. Need Dyno charts - normal and with Track key, also with and without restrictor plates in the exhaust.
4. Track times, of course, as you can get them, to compare with the "pro" results we've seen.
5. I am also interested in knowing what HASN'T been discussed yet. What pisses you off about the car, if anything?

I realize it may take some time to get answers. If all of these haven't been answered by the time I get mine, I shall be happy to address all of this, and more.

So...anyone else got a "bug"?

Oh yea got the bug bad. My car is days away from delivery. Add to your list the PCM lockdown requiring driving it a few miles before unlocking it. Sounds like STIguy had to drive about 4 miles. On the GT500s it was 5 consecutive miles or 50 starts to unlock the supercharger.

I stopped by the dyno shop yesterday and I was planning on doing just what you asked next week. One big problem with that. TracKey has no ETA!!

IF I get my car Saturday you'll hear what it sounds like with no discs.

My only questions so far:

Does intallation of the cooling ducts require cutting into the front bumper?
How much headroom do I have in the Recaros with my helmet on?
Will it hit the cement lip on my garage when I enter?

I believe you do need to cut holes in the lower valance to install the brake ducts. Nobody complained about headroom with helmets on during the Laguna Seca tests last month so I don't expect that to be a problem. Unless you're over 6'4" and then that's a problem in just about every car with a roof.

I'm 6'2" as well and have sat in a LS with the Recaro's. I don't think it's going to be a problem. When are you expecting your car to arrive? I'm available on March 25th for a ride.

Good point on the PCM. I'll be looking forward to clips of that exhaust!

What is the maximum wheel offset allowed front and rear?
What is the factory wheel offset, both reg Boss and LS?
What are the scale corner weights including f/r and cross?
How much do the Recaro's weigh?
What is the static measured camber curve at factory ride height?
How much caster from the factory?
What is the best supplier for a clear bra, fender qtrs, etc?
What fluid is in the trans from the factory?
What is the weight of the OEM rotors f/r (incl unsprung wt.)?
What is the maximum redline?
How to set launch control?

For starters....

Dave

I've requested delivery for next Thursday. It's in Brentwood, Ca, not too far from you. It all depends on if it can be offloaded and trucked to the dealer by Wednesday. My dealer is great, he's going to call the rail yard and see if they'll expedite my car.

How physically ill will Camaro and Challenger owners get when a Boss 302 blows their doors off?

Congrats Dave. That didn't take too long to get cross country. Must not have had too many stops along the way.

I believe that once you get hooked up to a UP Autorack train, it makes very few stops. Interesting factoid, the average speed of US freight trains is only 20-30 mph. This is because of frequent stops and pullovers for higher priority traffic. The Autorack to the west coast must be a higher priority than regular freight.

I think they are pretty use to the GT and GT500 doing that already!

I think it depends on where you're carrying it. Long legs or long torso. Legs you can get away with, the latter not so much.

Mine is here so I can help!!!

1. What's the deal with the side exhaust restrictor plates? How loud removed?

Not loud in the car...just deep, and the slight backfiring and popping under decel is nice-I have yet to have anyone drive the car besides me so I cannot comment on the outside noise

2. Are the shocks just 5-step adjustable, or do they have infinite adjustment levels? 5 step adjustable set on 2 from the factory

3. Need Dyno charts - normal and with Track key, also with and without restrictor plates in the exhaust. I can't help with this ...yet!

4. Track times, of course, as you can get them, to compare with the "pro" results we've seen. Same as above!

5. I am also interested in knowing what HASN'T been discussed yet. What pisses you off about the car, if anything? No telescoping steering wheel...and ride height...looks like an offroader

I realize it may take some time to get answers. If all of these haven't been answered by the time I get mine, I shall be happy to address all of this, and more.

So...anyone else got a "bug"?
see above for answers^^^^
