So is boss 302 #1 worth more than any other??

So would the first boss 302 off the line have any more inherent value than later builds?

Since it would quite possibly be a desirable number for people to own, I would assume yes. To what extent, who knows?
There are going to be up to four #1's by the way:
LS 001
0001 (Regular Boss)
?? 001 (Barrett Jackson car)
MP 0001 (Manufacturing prototype - the only prototypes with a chance of being sold later on)

I assume yes, look at it this way:

If you were looking for a Boss in a few years, number 1, 697 and 2113 were for sale, which one would you naturally want? Question is how much more would you be will to pay for it, I am sure most people would be willing to pay more but how much depends on the person. In any case I am sure there are people who would pay quite a bit more for it.

I think it will be worth more someday. How much? No idea.

Just look at all the auction shows and they always sell for more. Sometimes crazy $$

On the same token, it would be cool to have one of the very last numbers. May or may not add value someday.

The 70 B2 I used to have was among the last 5 that were known to be produced. I always thought that was neat.

It will only be worth more if you don't drive it. Say you put 20,000 miles on it and decide to sell it, you will probably get less than comparable lower mileage cars. I expect a number of folks to put them in storage for collectibility (I don't think this is a great idea but it will happen) so you will compete with very low mileage options.

I think the last 2013 (if they stop making them in 2013) will be the most valuable, again assuming low mileage.

What about 666 ????

I think 0001 is a conversation piece and only special to those who are into numerology. I'm glad 001 went to someone who cares about such things. Personally I think the best 1 to have for 2012 would be either LS 001 or MP 001 (very first new generation Boss ever). Even then I don't think they'd command much of a premium in the resale market. e.g. Who knows about the first '69 302 or 429? I don't remember any flurry of activity over low KK numbers for the 429.

If I were into special numbers, I'd probably go for my birthyear, birthdate, last 4 of my ssn, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

From your posts in the other thread, you were willing to pay more for it because of the low number, I'm sure someone else would be too. It's always special to collectors to say they bought the first one or the last one off the line of any car, especially an historically significant car.

Why not list it on Ebay and see what happens? Immagine if you got double what you paid for it - you could get another one for "free"

ehhh I dunno on this whole ebay idea... it's been pretty much Fate up until this point in scoring this one(pun intended). You stumbled upon it, you NEARLY lost it because another Dealer was offering 10K over (if you were, at all, hesitant, that Boss woulda been gone), you agreed to buy it before knowing it's number and it turned out to be the proverbial "golden ticket."

If it were me, I'd hang onto it. Too many variables lined up for you to just turn it for a quick buck.
