*sigh* I'm selling my Boss :(
After doing lots of thinking, I just cant justify making this car payment anymore. The wife and I are about to move to Germany and I'm afraid of taking the car and making payments on a car that will sit in storage for 5+ years makes no sense to me. We also want more money in our pockets to travel with.

four-walling: SOFA- Status of Forces Agreement. This is an agreement between the US and German governments pertaining to US military personnel in country.
As for selling the car, I took my Mustang Cobra over and sold it to another American who sold it to a German National. You may want to check your information. In any event, you may be able to sell it to another military member who is returning to the States. Check with your sponsor and see what they have to say before you leave. Also, check on insurance cost if you decide to take it. That may deter you in the end.
Germany was great assignment for us, as were the three plus assignments to Italy. Enjoy!

You can sell it to locals in Germany, Corey. (Spain is the one where you can't sell to locals per the SOFA.) And FWIW, German roads are much better than Spain's, though I have found some local twisties that look pretty **** amazing.
See my post on MilitaryStangs. At least get the car to Germany before deciding to sell. Either you'll find yourself in a more comfortable situation and realize you can afford to keep it (pay raise, COLA increase, family sep, dependent pay, etc), or you'll be in a seller's market like no other and be able to demand a premium for the car. That and for crying out loud, at least get it over there and get one good run in on the 'Ring!

I hope they have changed their law by now. Way back in 1975 (i'm old
) once an American bought a car off a German car lot, it had to be sold 'only' to another American.

The roads here are AWESOME!!! there are some narrow roads, but for the most part they aren't bad. My Boss was in storage for 4-5 months last year because I didn't want to buy winter or all-season tires for it.
I would suggest you reconsider, having a Boss on the Autobahn is amazing. And you can sell to a local national, try are resposible for the taxes on the vehicle and any modifications needed to register it. Just a though.

Corey, I'm very sad to see that you are considering this. I hope that you find a way to make it work, but as a veteran myself, I understand the sacrifices that have to be sometimes made. I wish you the best, brother!
I lived in Germany for 10+ years, The locals are lin ove American sports car and it's up to them to get it through TUV. You sell it your done, with it. SOFA, unless its changed in the past ten years allows you most of your rights as an an American to drive an an American spec car otherwise the Military would be buying local and not shipping their own. I'd take mine in a heart beat if I went back. No worry's dude. It would sell in no time.
