Replacement Tires for LS

With a 60 tread wear #; I do not see the Factory installed Pirelli tires on the LS lasting too long

What brand/model tires has anyone replaced these with; for street use?

Looking at the Tire Rack choices the Bridgestone S 04 seems appealing; thoughts comments please.

I would probably op for something made by Toyo or Michelin. Toyo for price and quality. Michelin for superiority.

As someone who won't be doing any serious tracking with their Boss, I've already decided I'm going for the Continental ExtremeContact DW. Tire Rack price about $1,000. I've had great luck with Continentals on other vehicles and for the price and wear rating, seems like it is worth a shot.

i have the s-04s on my boss, fantastic tire. cant say enough good about it. great turn-in, no roll over, much more grip than what the normal boss came with on my track. buy from discount tire, they are cheaper on them.

KY if you aren't tracking the boss, i'd save some more loot and go with the hankook ventus evo v12, they are about $800 a set IIRc and had as many good reviews as the conti's.

The Conti DWs are way better than the V12s at only around $200 more. If you do mostly street driving I'd opt for them. DW, not the DWS, FWIW.

Just a FYI, the Conti DWs have a pretty soft sidewall. They are light weight and it seems their light weight was achieved by light sidewall support. A few people I know in the E92 M3 crowd got them, like them for the street but absolutlely hate them on the track.

Also, another tire that is awesome on the street and track is the Yoko's AD008s. A lot of people who have a dual setup street car (street/track-roadcourse) use the AD008s with great success. Problem is the 255/40/19 front tire is a killer as not a lot of good for the track manafacturers are making this tire size. The Mich. PSS's would be awesome as they are less than the PS2s (which are being phased out) and are a better tire. Just no 255/40/19

Agreed, if it came down to the choice of the DWs vs. the Hankook without a doubt the DWs.

Any word on the Toyo Proxes 1? They don't have M3 sizes but they do for the LS.

I don't really have much experience with Toyo. I have always been partial to Michelin, Bridgestone, and am comfortable with Continental and their DW/DWS.

I really like the Bridgestone RE-11. If I could get it in 275/35 it's what I'd run.

I have a set of Proxes 1's sitting in my garage that I'm going to use as track tires. If I don't like them on the track I'll use them for the street. If the Proxes don't work out I'll probably try the AD08's next if I don't buy a set of 18" wheels.
