"Regular" 2012 Boss 302 - Grill Surround Mod?

So I love the contrast colored grill surround on the Laguna Seca and wish they did the same for the "regular" Boss.

The Plan: Wrap the surround of my Competition Orange Boss(whenever it comes in) with gloss black 3M vinyl.

Here is a CrayonShop comparison using a pic posted on TMS(I'll take it down if that's not "cool").

The black grille surround (as per the standard GT) is a much better look, in my opinion

No problem. It's cool.

Actually the black on black looks good on the Orange car. IMO the red on black or red on silver Laguna Seca looks stupid. When my black Seca arrives, I am thinking about wrapping the grill surround with a black wrap...

If I had purchased a 5 DOT 0 one of the first things I would have done was paint the grill surround KB to match the car. And while it was out I would have removed the fog lights and installed a Roush billet grill. A gloss black grill surround would be fine on one of the lighter colored cars.

The LS appeals to be because the grill surround contrasts with the black grill. But on the street Boss, it would just be a flat black grill with a glossy black surround. Sorry but that doesn't do it for me. I'll pass.

Thanks, I'm just trying to keep my mind from counting the seconds until my Boss shows up, lol.

I love the red on black! Trade?
Couldn't hate the red on silver more. I hate silver cars in general. I think they should've used Competition orange as one of the Laguna Seca colors, but red would look like dog vomit on orange and keeping the same accent color is cost-effective. I would rather have them do white as the other Laguna Seca color than silver.

I see the potential for looking funny, but isn't that how pretty much every black car from any manufacturer looks with a flat black/charcoal plastic grill? If I put it on and it sucks, vinyl is easy to take off.

Good point, I don't plan to change it but it may look OK.

How about painting the grill surround white to match the stripes on the cars with white stripes/roof? Similar to how the LS is done. Or like a Porsche GT3 RS.

In for results of your vinyl job. I had been a strong supporter of this idea when the first pictures were released, but now the body-color surround has grown on me.

I've got a Competition Orange on order, so I didn't think of it, but that would look really awesome!

The GT3 has been my high-end sports car dream car for a long time due to it's no BS design, but I've always been a Ford man... in 2012 the planets align and I get a Ford that rivals the GT3!

For me it's this:

Boss 302 = GT3

Boss 302 Laguna Seca = GT3 RS
