Red Key vs Silver Key mpg

Finally getting Trackey installed next week. I was just curious for those that have it...how much different is fuel consumption with the red key as opposed to the normal key? I get about 18 mpg average for a tank right now, but I was just curious how much different it is or isn't.

I haven't had mine long but I haven't noticed a huge difference. About 16 mpg

My question is it normal for the throttle to take a while to become active. It basically is not responsive until about 5 minutes in???

Are you using the red key on city streets?

No difference that I can tell.
If anything, I used the regular key on the way to Dallas for the BOSS meet earlier this month, got about 22.5mpg on the 3 hr drive. On the way back, I used TK, initially got up to 23.5mpg, then it settled back down around 22.3-22.5. This was cruising at about 8-9mph over the speed limit (70-75).

The car has to get up to temp before lopey idle engages.

I avg 14 so it always amazes me when I see guys talking about 19 or 20 mpg. and I don't mean on just a highway trip, I'm talking everday driving. They must have a lot more willpower than me.

It's not just will power. I average 18mpg per tank. The thing is I have a decent amount of cruise time going from my smaller town to the next town over. So while cruising, I'm getting 22-23 mpg or so. When I'm in town, I accelerate very nicely from any standstill, but that doesn't happen all the time either. If I had a bunch of city driving with stop and go traffic, I doubt I would be in double digits lol

I lose a few MPG with the red key, almost all town driving, I assuming it's because the TP is so closer to the top.

I think in the Boss the most important factor in the fuel economy is your right foot.
Well that and if you do a lot of city driving like I do you are looking at 12 MPG

I have a 6 mile commute to/from work with 4 miles of that being highway, and 2 being low speeds around the base (and the God forsaken line at the gate most mornings). but if I'm not standing on the skinny pedal I typically avg 14+mpg as well. Highway, depending on cruising and when i hit the reset button, will give me anywhere from 20-23mpg.

Just to throw this out there, since none of us seem to be seeing the advertised 17/26mpg on the window stickers....

(I personally don't give two s***s about mpg, I find true value in the smile on my face while driving, and the looks from people gawking as I drive by.)

We own 4 vehicles between the wife and myself. 5.0, 5.7, 6.0, 6.2. I don't look at gas prices anymore. I fill them up when they need gas and go on about my business. Would I rather gas be $1/gal? Of course, but I don't see it changing anytime soon. I'll enjoy my gas guzzlers while I still can.

Yes! Of course it isn't any different than the silver key for me. Got about 17 mpg on just over a 100 mile trip. Of course I was cruising anywhere from 85 to 140mph and a bit at 120mph!

This. This is why I can't wait to get the BOSS over to Germany. Part of me is willing to completely bypass the 15 months in Spain and just get to my second home.

Same here brother.
When I see/hear people complain about gas going up by a few cents I honestly get a good hearty laugh. I'm not... what's the term?.... financially well off. I manage what I make well enough and I'm proud of what I've been able to do with my junior enlisted salary. But c'mon man!

Just made this...
