Rear-ended

I was just rear-ended while sitting at a light. Being a Boss, I'm thinking that it would be better to have it repaired at a Ford dealership than a body shop, but I'm looking for opinions. And does anyone know a Dallas/Fort Worth dealership with a particularly good-quality service shop and body shop?

Looks like a rather easy fix that any half decent body shop could handle. Ford dealer can be the best or worst shop in the area, the name on the door makes no difference. Find the shop w/ the best reputation. Honestly, I'd call the local Porsche dealer and find out who they use for body work. A Ford tech is used to repairing Taurus' and Focus', and the level of quality those customers expect. Porsche owners tend to be a tad more particular.

Sorry, and good luck.

The guy went under when he hit, so I'm wondering what other damage I'll find under there from him crunching the exhaust, etc. At least it doesn't appear at first blush that it got into the trunk or rear quarters.

That bites! I feel for you. But I must say that it looks like you got real lucky. Shouldn't be too bad to fix. Keep us posted.

I've heard the whole "it looks fast sitting still" thing, but apparently it really did to that guy.

And find out if there is any devaluation in your car? If so make either the other person's insurance company or the other person compensate you if at all possible!

I wouldn't assume that the dealership has the best body shop. Any good shop will be able to get the parts needed to fix your Boss.

You should check out Advantage Autoworks in North Richland Hills or Stuarts Paint and Body in Dallas. I've never dealt with Stuarts, but they are the go to shop for exotics and other high end cars. Advantage does both restoration of classic cars as well as paint and body work and are highly regarded.

^i agree. I'd find a high line car dealer and see who they use. My dad recently was rear ended in his Lincoln mks and that's what he did. Found a high line high expectation shop and did a little research on their background. They did an amazing Job and turned out very well. It was a little far away but well worth it. Don't let just anyone touch the boss! Lol sorry about the incident though that sucks.

Will a CarFax show a accident on your cars history? Or does it have to be over a $$limit?

If the police were called and they took an accident report. They file it with the DMV and then it may show on a car fax.

In my case I called the police and they refused to send anyone out because there were no injuries and neither car was disabled.

You should be okay, but insurance companies can report it also. I've found that they usually don't.
