Lightbulb race to reserve your "boss"

Ok seeing who is paying attention. Just a little fun to kill time and entertainment. Race against other members to sign up your boss related username on boss-302.com
I know the "boss" related names will be the first to go so I thought it would be fun to see how creative you are. Of course I will get the first dibbs....
AND...... the site is "inflating" as we speak so you should see it within 45 minutes and starting to take shape after the rough draft takes place.... Me and Jeffisheretoo have ideas for it. We will have some cool boss forums tonight....just need yall to sign up and fill it with lots of threads and posts!
Also, there will be an entire forum dedicated to videos, and multimedia.... so start searching your hard drives and get ready for a little bit different sort of forum that you are used to seeing....

See you there... be there or be square....last one there is a ***! HA!

Thats almost like asking does the world really need another mustang site or camaro site...

Last I counted... there maybe 4 boss related sites as far as the new gen...
and only about two that are dedicated solely to the new gen boss 302.
Thanks for the input and feedback though. That will encourage owners and staff to strive to make it the best....or at least different than the rest....

I mean this respectfully, so please take it as such. But there are many forums already with thriving communities. For your forum to work it needs more than just some cross forum marketing.

Of course building a community is a chicken/egg situation, but right now there is literally no reason to sign up there, not even a single thread. On the web content is king, so I'd suggest you find a way to populate your forum with something meaningful and unique to it if you expect it to be successful. Otherwise, outlook is poor. Good luck.

no disrespect..but there is a single thread...
13 forums...and more than I can count to go... also a few here thought it would be interested.. so we decided to have a go at it.
I appreciate the comment...
My only "retort" really is simple... If the world tried to stop creating "new things" what kind of world would be be in?
We are not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Those kind of efforts would be futile.

I have a question...
If there was any kind of fear of having too many boss related sites...
then why would even members on this site join (or simply read posts without joining) from all of those other "said" sites?
The reason is simple. Content keeps people entertained. Bottom line.

There's no fear of having too many Boss sites, it's just that there really are not that many Boss owners out there when you look a the big picture. Of those owners, how many want to go to a Boss specific site to read about the exact same topics already discussed on this site and the other specific one? Especially when there is another really good Boss specific site. Your idea is really great though, just about two years too late.

Look if you want to do a site that might attract the 8000 or so Boss (B2) vs the Boss (B1) owners (B1 owners have a site that chronicles the original Boss and has a forum) you first need to look at what made the International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club site and the Mach 1 Registry such popular sites……………Also look at the Brembo50.com site…………

In my option it is because those are not just forums but repositories of knowledge about the cars. Go and poke around on the web page side of those sites and see what I’m talking about.

If you build a knowledge base about the cars folks would go there to read up on the Boss and as a byproduct might to visit the forums to discuss things related to the cars.

History of the race cars, the story of the prototypes, a FAQ about the Boss (B2), solicit how to stories from members on common track mods, a gallery of the different colors, etc

Basically, you need a reason for folks to leave our comfortable sites we already have

Just my 2 cents.

Good Luck.

Doug

Not the point at all... In fact I would not want anyone to do that as I surely wouldn't... As comfy is what it all should be about.. I understand that...
And this is why TMS is my fave #1 hang out at the moment, its comfy.
The way I look at other sites is like this, kinda the way I do with threads or posts...
Ya know? If its not a post that intrigues you, then simply glance at it, and move on? I am not saying anyone here is being hateful or anything, in fact I enjoy constructive positive points that most have made. I did not want to start a ruckus, but I guess I did. I apologize for that. My intent meant no harm. If ya wanna check the site out from time to time awesome. If not... Then by all means don't bother ya know? Its not hard to go to a particular site and click on a link and you should be able to tell in less than 5 seconds if you will like it or not. The entire world is demographic... as far as the internet is concerned. I simply have a lot of time on my hands, I am throwing it out there. If I don't do anything but play on the site myself and talk to myself I am fine too. HA! I am a professional drummer... (now im getting side tracked) but anyway.. I can remember some of our first gigs some 18 years ago... Some of our crowds (not crows) were no more than 1 or 2 people minus the staff..... Lots of fun. Also, it does not matter to me whether or not the site fails or has one or two members... Of course any time someone builds a forum there is always the possibility of that occurring. But you are correct.. forums in general take years to take a foot hold... I know that more than anyone... back to what I was saying... I am having fun, and if ya wanna check it out fine if ya do, fine if ya don't. I am still having fun until I get my Boss 302 which I do not have yet. The forum is just an extension of how I feel inside.. and have not shared the URL with anyone but you guys... Nothing more nothing less. Musicians create, artists create... People by nature....create.... I get tickled though sometimes.. Taking 2 seconds of someones time is asking too much of people? How long does it take to click on a link and then go right back to what you were doing? 5 seconds tops? I am not expecting a hit record here! lol.... Most of you guys make the same 4 or 5 rounds on your fave stang sites....and bounce back and forth...all day long! Don't tell me ya don't because I see a LOT of the same members doing this. You can take two seconds to do that but if there is a threat to your comfort zone or your busy schedule? lol.. Its almost like... ( now yes I used to be this way) Dammit... I bought a "insert fave brand here" and by gosh I will not look at another "insert another brand here" not for one second! And besides... I have watched you guys.... Most of the stang sites you do visit for current gen boss 302 information is not a current gen boss 302 specific forum.

I thought it was funny anyway...

I kind of agree with most people, but i think one way to attract more people would be to create a cell phone app. I love the 4 or so boss sites for tons of information, but sometimes for when im on the go it would be nice to have a quick app thats phone user friendly. Kind of like tms.
