Pirelli tire failure on the road

This happened taking my wife to the airport. At the dealer more to see if this can be a warranty issue. Never saw this on a new tire, just retreads on semis... Tire pressure was fine, doing about 65 and heard a bang as the read hit the wheelwell. Crazy!

That second pic kinda looks like excessive wear from a bad alignment. How many miles on those tires?

Glad everything was OK!!!

That's not a retread. That's failure to rotate tires.

You can cross rotate by taking the front tires off the rims and switching them. I do that to mine every 10,000 miles. The camber eats the inside of the tires. His alignment shouldn't be off but very well could be.

That is a serious alignment issue, though usually bad alignments cause excessive inside wear.

That appears to be the outside of the tire.

Your not supposed to do this either. Each tire is different.

Didn't notice that. Hard to see on the mobile app. Definitely an alignement issue. The don't camber out cars.

Never heard of this. Mom had a 2006 Benz and had larger rears. Never cross rotated her front tires. Just bought a new set of 4 each year.

Makes sense. Her tires cost a fortune every year. Had to purchase 2 new sets once due to not having the IRS aligned.

Not sure exactly what he is saying but I think the tire rubbing on the wheel well caused what we are looking at? He would have had to noticed the structure of the tire showing through the rubber?
