ONLY 350 Boss 302's to Canada

Got a call from my local dealer this morning. Regional Manager had called him about the Boss 302 allocations. Dealer said he already had a customer for one and it's sounds like the RM is going to make sure he gets one.
I asked if he knew how many were coming to Canada and he said the RM told him 350.
There are 500 dealers in Canada, so 350 is not very many. The 08 Bulllitt had 700 coming to Canada, which was 10% of the US build (7000).
If those percentages hold then it would seem like only 3500 Boss' will be produced for the US.

I believe there will be more produced then what everyone thinks, Ford is testing the hype and interest of the car. No dealer knows how many will be available as ford doesn`t even know how many there going to build yet. That sounds more like the LS allotment

I think you're wrong. There is not going to be 350 LS models coming to Canada and that I will bet the bank on.
Don't kid yourself- Ford know how many they are going to build. All of these things need to be known MONTHS before production starts so that know how many parts they need, etc.

well guess we`ll see, as per usual the dealers don`t know anymore than general public and like to blow smoke.

I'm just trying to let my fellow Canadians know that the dealers are now getting some info and that the Regional Managers have some info. If they contact their local dealer they can get a few wheels put in motion. There are 500 dealers in Canada and only 350 Boss 302 to go around.

This could be the case.
I know the BOSS won't have as many as the BULLITT, and we always get a fraction of the US allotment.

Here's hoping they also offer it in 2013

I was at a Erinwood today. The manager had told me that he had a meeting with some Ford reps yesterday, which I would believe because last week they told me that is when he was having a meeting for more info. He told me that there were only be 200 allocated to Canada, for all the 450+ dealers. They said they'll get at least one in. One of the sales reps also told me that their first GT500 went for 15k over sticker and he wouldn't be surprised if the Boss did as well, which really sucks because I've been planning on this car coming out for a few years now.

That's too bad about the dealer gouging you. I spoke with my dealer and he is NOT going to charge more than MSRP. Tacking on 15k wouldn't make sense, you're into GT500 territory now and you may as well buy one of them.
I feel fortunate that I got my request in early so that when the Ford rep called my dealership he was informed that they already had a customer (me) for the Boss. I'm sure this will help ensure that the dealership will get one, why give one to a dealership that doesn't have a buyer yet?

We'll know more a month from now, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. When you think about all the small rural dealerships across Canada you can pretty well rule all of them out- and there really is a fair number of them. So the dealerships in the big Canadian cities should all be fine.

hello to you all.. been watching this forum since ford announced the return of the boss... i always liked the mustangs but never did make the plunge. the boss 302 makes me dream of having one finally.

so ...if you all say it right ,and ford allows only a handful of these here in canada .. so that means the dealer will order them the way they want? and we have one chance to get it because --i'm shure dealers won't trade their cars--if it's there in the lot with a color that you don't want/like .{i know we can always go to the next dealer but..}. not fun we'll have no second chance of getting the color we want.. i should run and try to place an order for that competion orange one that i would love to have..

The 2 SVT dealers in my area (London/St.Thomas) are the same. GT500's just sitting there. Ford is allowing employee pricing on them now.

If you really want one I would suggest you do contact your dealer to 1) try to be #1 on his waiting list and 2) help ensure that he will be getting one.
You might find that someone else is #1 on his waiting list which means you'd better find another dealer to deal with. I doubt many dealers are going to get more than 1.

hey thanks Whammer. i did called this afternoon. i called my nearest ford dealer and he told me that he doesn't even know if ford will sell the car here in canada!!!??? it could be offerred only at their SVT dealers. if ford wants it that way...
as for ordering or placing my name on top of a list i'm too early.,he told me to wait that it's only a 2012 model and it's not out yet..that i should call and check again around dec/january ..
the salesman doesn't know either if his dealership will be allowed one; ford decides on sales volume. so it wouldn't be this dealership.they don't sell that many mustangs.. so i would have to go to another ford--no big deal-- he was estimating the price to be around $49000..

Dealer is clueless, no surprise really. The order banks will open in Nov. and you'll be able to order the Boss then. Just tell the dealer you want to be #1 on their list, I see no reason why they wouldn't put you on a list? Production will start in Jan. 2011.

That 49k price he said could be correct. Canadian prices are much higher than the US price. GT500's start around 59k. I'm hoping the Boss comes in around 45k CAN. Pricing should be known in Oct.

--he told me that the boss 302 should be about, less /around than a 2010-2011 5.0 convertible..$49k mentionned --
for shure i will call+visit the dealer and mention that i would like to order up my comp orange boss ..i want him to know that i'm a buyer. i don't know if they have or will make a list.. but he'll have my name on top of it! if he cannot do it then i'll go away.-don't want to loose time. i think i showed the salesman that i was really interested. as a gm guy the camaro ss isn't for me.it doesn't attract me. the new mustang does. especially the 1.0G that the boss 302 manages.. that 's what i like.. A LOT!
