Our final mounting brackets are being fabricated and then we will release the oil cooler. I will put pics, prices, and specs up on the web page this weekend. Availability will probably be 2-3 weeks out.

Tiger Racing Oil Cooling System

I was at SEMA today and Cloud9 (Gary) asked me if I would take a couple of photos of the Boss 302S Air to Oil intercooler for him. Unfortunately, the persons at the Ford Racing display out front would not allow anyone to touch the cars, let alone open the hood of the orange 302S and take photos.

Luckily I ran into Paul Brown of Tiger Racing whose 302S was on display in the Eibach booth. He gladly opened the hood and allowed me a couple of photos of their Fluidyne oil cooler and twin electric fans.

Paul said that their oil cooler is much more effective than the factory 302S setup; and it is available now from Tiger-Racing. It consists of a cooler and dual fans which mount behind the radiator. (Keep in mind the 302S's don't have an AC condenser in front of the radiator)

We also talked a little bit about Tiger's 302S hood with its through-the-hood vents. Paul said that the major contribution of the vented hood is not better cooling, but rather increased downforce, enabling an improvement of approx 4 seconds a lap due to the hood. That is why Ford elected to use the hood when they began producing
the 302S.

Here are some photos of the Tiger Racing oil cooling system.

Not sure if I buy the "4 seconds per lap" bit for the average track rat, but PB could probably make that difference happen. As far as downforce w/ the hood, I definitely agree there. Less hot air trapped under the hood prevents front end lift at speed.

Also looks like the intake tube and air filter are re-routed to the passenger side on PB's car?

Thanks for the pics Charlie! Looking for anything to help with the cooling. Maybe Trackey has a surprise in there and change fan setting to help with the street cars.

That's the correct part number for the Ford Racing unit. Unfortunately, they elected NOT to include a thermostat. I can't say that I agree with this logic - especially in consideration of the data collection we have done.

Our kit will include a thermostat which should be a significant advantage for those who may have an equal or greater amount of street time planned for their Coyote. To be price competitive, we may also offer an track-only kit sans thermostat. Both of our kits will utilize the same NASCAR-spec'd cooler which is at least 50% larger than the Ford Racing unit and I guarantee will have a lower pressure drop - despite it's increased size.
