Non-Torsen rear diff

Anyone with the std 8.8 diff having issues with it?

I think it was on the SpeedChannel Boss302 show that one of the engineers said that the rear swaybar is too big and would tear up the std 8.8 diff. That was the reason for the Torsen as an option.

Any basis to this?

I believe he was talking about only the LS Boss swaybar. The LS has a slightly larger bar than the standard Boss and the Torsen is standard in the LS. If you order the Torsen Diff. on the standard Boss you still get the standard Boss swaybar.

That's makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Yes mainly the stock diff becomes a liability when you start lifting one of the rear tires under power (high-G corner exits). This will roast the clutches in the stock diff.

If you're not going to track the car, it's not something you should worry about; and even then, if you're a novice driver, you probably won't encounter that scenario.
