New Mods:Hotchkis/Whiteline/Jegs Cat Deletes

I just had the following mods installed:

Open Track Connection in Bartonville, Tx (Loran Keller)

1.Hotchkis Springs #19391
2.Hotchkis LCA
3.Whiteline Relocation Brackets

First of all, the stance is awesome (pics later). The handling and feel is way better than I imagined. The ride did not suffer at all, as a matter of fact, it's a much better (smoother) ride than the factory springs. Handling is much better.

4. Jegs Performance Cat Deletes (stainless steel). matched up with the Roush Extreme Axle Back's this car sounds like a BEAST! The bubbles and barks on decel (restrictor plates removed) is crazy.

Not throwing Engine codes, yet. Planning on getting AED Tunes soon. It's loud and sounds awesome. Windows up and cruising is not problem in the cabin.

I'll try to post a video in the next few days, but that won't do it justice.

Performance is better. I can tell on acceleration without those "vacuum cleaner" cats, the engine breathes much better.

If sound and state inspections are not an issue, it's worth it.

ps. no exhaust smell either.

Did you also replace your factory dampers? I did the Hotchkis Stage 1 TVS plus their rear end kit...and a couple other things...but I installed a full set of Koni Sports ( Yellows ). Like you...I'm completely impressed with the transformation! If you haven't replaced your factory dampers yet....or plan to do so in the future...I would strongly recommend you consider the Koni Yellows.

Congrats!! Enjoy that upgraded Boss

Thanks. No, I just replaced the springs, LCA's and relocation brackets. My next project is the AED tune and CAI.

I can imagine how well yours must handle/feel with all the suspension parts you've added. What did the Koni's do as opposed to stock?

thanks,

Steve

The factory dampers on the Boss have 5 settings, which I'm sure you're well aware of. On my regular Boss...there didn't seem to be a whole lot of difference from setting 2 or 3 to setting 5...IMHO. The Koni yellows do not have clicks per se....the more you turn clock wise...the firmer they get...is the best I can describe. One can also appreciate the changes in adjustment...say from 1/2 turn to 1 or 1.25 turns. This may be, in part, from the combination of new suspension bits as well as the dampers.

I can only imagine the degree to which one can fine tune the dampening with the Koni yellows when running different tracks. Perhaps one might be better served with the Koni oranges..SRT...if strictly running on the street. I myself am a believer in the Koni sport!

If you're doing the tune and intake....maybe consider swapping out the "H" pipe....seems like guys are getting some pretty decent gains...without having to raise the motor out of the mounts like you need to do to install LT headers.

I purchased mine from Jay at Hypermotive. He's on this site frequently and is a great guy to help you get things sorted out if you have other suspension questions.......Hypermotive has them on sale...Jay had them shipped out pronto! Here's a link to their page and the dampers I purchased ( Model Numbers.) The link shows the "Kit" which means for all four dampers.....not just for one.

http://shop.hypermotiveperformance.c...-8241-1240.htm

Please keep in mind......the dampers listed above are for 2011+ Mustangs. There are a lot of guys going with 2010 GT 500 strut spring hats....which requires a different strut number. I re-used my factory strut spring hat....seperated the two parts and used the Maximum Motorsports caster / camber plates on top of the factory hats.

Good luck.....for me....the suspension upgrades have been amazing!! YMMV.
