MT was the first I heard someone mention specifically which settings were used on their run. iirc, MT even mentioned a half setting, so I suppose they are infinitely variable between one and five ????? I thought there were only five settings with stops at each setting.

Wow those are great numbers. I'm a big Porsche fan and would love a Porsche 911 Carrera GT3. I've mentioned before that I think of my Boss as a poor mans GT3 and the LS as a GT3 RS. A couple of friends of mine have a 2005 Carrera 4S and 2008 Carrera S so it's important for me to at least be able to keep up. I don't think it's going to be a problem. No doubt. I'm just in awe right now. I really really can't wait to hook up with the Porsche club at BIR this summer. There were quite a few (albeit some grudgingly) compliments for how fast the GT500 got around the track. The Boss could be a real contender for some of the faster ones that can actually drive their cars All in all they're a great group, so it will be fun for sure to put down some lap times.

I hope tests by other magazines have similar relative results when compared to other vehicles they test.

i.e. The Boss is about the same % quicker/faster than the others.

I wonder if it's the larger rear stabilizer bar?

LOL don't get me started on the bowtie boys You see the red C6 in my Avatar? That's heading into turn 2 on the South course at Autobahn. I had been running him down the first lap after getting held up by the starter. Let's just say about 3 turns later he's mowing the lawn

Hey Rick, same here as far as Porsches go. I was hoping for performance at least as good as my Spyder - Car and Driver's Best Handling Car in America 2010.

Looks like it could be track dependent. With the Spyders weight, lateral acceleration and braking advantages, it will probably win out on shorter tight tracks, but the Boss might outrun it on bigger tracks.

If you watch the video on page 2 of the MT test you will notice how badly the rumble strips upset the solid rear axle...NOT! So much for only being able to handle a glass smooth race track.

I took the Spyder to VIR last October. I wanted more than 320 bhp / 273 lb-ft in the straights. Turns and curves were an absolute blast. I'm hoping the BOSS is close to the same.

There's a bunch of GT500 owners posting away with their feathers ruffled. Not a single mention on the Audi R8 forums. I don't belong to any BMW boards, I wonder if there's any mention of the Motor Trend test results there?
