What is the minimum information a person needs to track a car and where would I do it?

Still waiting on a VIN number for a Boss 302 but the dealer said two days ago that it could be tracked with the order date and partial VIN, have not read about that anyplace myself.

So any thoughts or suggestions, is there a way to track a car without a VIN?

 

Do a search for the Boss 302 Owners Guide Supplement and take a look at it. Ford was kind enough to provide three pages on Track Prep for the cars.

 

Sorry, my mistake. When you said track I thought "put it on the race track". Disregard my comments above.

Your dealer has a "Vehicle Visibility System" that tells him the status of the cars that he has ordered. It provides the status from the time that he places the order.

 

Finally have a window sticker, scheduled for next Monday, April 4th (hope being a Monday car is not a bad thing).
