Magnetic or vinyl numbers for track days

What are people using for numbers for track events that require them on the sides of your cars? Are you using vinyl, magnetic or something else? What are the pros/cons? Any online retailers that you would recommend?

Quite a few of us autocrossers use magnets from http://izoomgraphics.com/ . I've heard from other road race guys that they have used them up to 150+ MPH without issue.

Some of us are using the reusable self adhesive numbers from Solo.

I have used magnetic for years with no issues at speeds up to 165 mph (not in the Boss). I had them made at a local sign shop.

Get magnetic.
I have used static cling on my Corvette and they tend to come off at speed especially if the car is waxed.
The self adhesive ar OK if you keep them on ,but, not so good for take off & putting back on.
I made numbers from shelf paper and leave them on my 70 Vette.
Have magnetic for my Boss.

Thanks for the replies.

Is there any risk of magnetic ones moving around (even a little bit) and scratching the car?

Good question, but mine have never moved. I'd be more worried about taking rock hits from all the cars you'll be passing

someone at my local track was using vinyl static cling style, they were peeling off at 120-ish and he resorted to blue painters tape.

I'm pretty sure it's 8" tall, but I'd have to verify when I get home. The smaller one on the roof is 4" or 5". You could measure from the underside of the top part of the C-stripe below the door handle to just above the bottom of the C-stripe to confirm as well.

I found a guy at a local bicycle shop who can make vinyl numbers pretty cheaply. They're not re-usable, but not that expensive, either.

My magnetic numbers lasted for about 4 track days, then I lost 3 out of 4 in one day. I had the car surface clean, and the backs of the numbers clean, but they still came off somewhere.

I think I paid $75 for 4 magnetic numbers; two-5s & two 9s (can flip to be 6s) which gives me 7 different possible # combinations. I have about 50 track days on them and they still look like new....
