Lug Nut Socket Size

Sorry for the brain damage, but I swear the manual says that the lug nuts are 20 mm, but the Craftsman 20 mm socket I just bought no worky. At $7 a pop, I just want to get the right one without continually returning the wrong one. So, I swallowed a humble sandwich and I'm just asking (yeah, I searched first). What size/brand socket do I need?

I know, I'm no man.

A deep socket 13/16" works best -- perfect fit and any brand will work.
Wrap some making tape around the outside so it won't scrape against the wheel lug area.

That tape idea is useful.

One step better is MAC Tools lug nut socket. You can get it in 1/2 inch drive, 13/16 6 point. It is a deep thin wall metal socket that has a plastic liner. It won't marr the lug nuts. Good for 120 ft/lbs of torque. Don't use it on an impact gun though. It is a little more money than a regular deep socket. Then as said earlier, wrap the outside with a layer of tape. Part # for the socket is PX127C.

I had to torque the lug nuts to 100 lbft after I took delivery. Came from the plant at 75 lbft.

I, too, use a deep socket 13/16”. Ford says to retighten at 500 miles. I got lazy and retightened at 700 miles. About 4 lug nuts were less than 100 ft-lbs.
